Post subject: Who Let The DOGS Out? |

Ok, so we all know the lowdown on the new MK game by now, and I'm sure we are all bouncing off the walls with blood-thirsty excitement. But remember not so long ago when we didn't know what was going down behind WB's closed doors? All we knew was that they had code named the game MK: Attack Of The Dogs. Of course, we instantly started to unravel this code, and had ourselves convinced the they were using Dogs as an anagram for Gods. Then our mminds started to wonder, and we came up with the idea of the new game being based after Armageddon, and being a battle of the Elder Gods.
But now we are told that, although it's based after Armageddon, it's wrapped around the original MK games with a bit of Marty McFly-ery.
This leaves me asking the simple, and easily overlooked question of- What's the fucking deal with the code name? Is it still relavent in any way shape of form? Did Boon and the boys have a bunch of ideas, state the were working on it, and then scrap it for something they thought would be a little safer? Or will it still have something to do with the upcoming game?
You thoughts please, folks...

Being the first to have stated the Attack of the Gods idea....I was was kind of disappointed when I realized it wasn't involved with the Elder Gods.
But that is still to be seen. With "events changing" etc. we fight get a big battle even after Shao Kahn. Maybe the Elder Gods pissed off that Raiden fucked with time lol.
For now im staying optimistic. I refuse to believe the kodename was just that.....a kodename....for now. Kurrently waiting to see if Ed will reply to me reguarding the matter. Until then adios Amigos!
EDIT:
ANWSER REVEALED!
Tim_Static (Admin of ultimatemk.com) revealed to me that DOGS and NUNS was a play on the word nine. MK9 = M K-nine (as in the dog lol)
Thats it man. No big Elder Gods attacking, no big mad apocalypse fight scenes. Just a rather smart kodename for MK 9 lol

You gotta admit it was a good one. So much of our time wasted speculating what it meant. But I wouldnt't change it......we had good craic discussing this shit and thats how it has always been with MK.

It was well played on the Team's behalf. An, yeah, it was defo good craic trying to suss out what was going to happen next. nut, as always, they were one step ahead of us. The funny thing is how incredibly obvious the answer was. It was right there staring us all in the face, yet we never noticed it.
From now on, every time I hear anybody reffers to a dog as a canine, I'm automatically going to think "Boon, you tricky bastard!"

They could add some riddles in the load up screens to find secrets that would keep me entertained for ages. Remember the old one (I think) why are Stryker and Cyrax fighting? something like that linked to the game would keep fans guessing.

Remeber Smoke popping up in MKII and saying "I've never seen a Kano transformation"? That riddle still melts my head to this very day. In the options menu on my MKII cab there is a stats screen. This shows how many wins, fatalities,biggest win streak, blah, blah, blah there has been on both player one side, and player two since the machine was turned on that day.. But it also shows how many Kano transformations there have been... WHAT??

Yeah man that was a great one however I think it was put there deliberately to fuck with the hardcore fans that searched everywhere. Similar to the Ed Boon and John Tobias wins txt found in the game lol
