So, it has come to my attention that not eveeryone can get this magazine and some of you who can, just can't find it. It's a shame and with no one being allowed to scan and plagerize, I thought I would give you what to you need to know WITHOUT doing anything against the rules. So here you go guys, the EGM article, abridged, dumb-down, explained, but not stolen, copied, or illegal:
The magazine has two covers (I bought both cause I'm lame.) One of Sub-Zero, one of Raiden. I won't post these even though I technically COULD, but you can easily find them online.
The article starts with a background of the banner from E3 (head rip) showing off some screenshots (Cage shooting shadowball at Subby + Subby freezing Nightwolf.) This whole part talk about how the market is full of gore and humor that the older MKs just don't live up. It's time for a comeback.
Next pages show what appears to be a redone version of the Kombat Temple from MK3. Reptile's doing his slide to Sektor. In the background we see a priest praying and another skinning a person alive with his arms in the air (heaviliy obscured by Sektor.) The Armageddon version of Rain is also seen, what he is doing cannot.
This talks about everything we've already heard. "We're going as M-Rated as we can" blah blah blah. "It's 2.5D" bloo bloo bloo. "It's the fastest MK we've ever made" blee blee blee. This is all said while we see, on the side, the MK game timeline (this continues throughout the article.)
NEXT
We see Mileena teleport kicking Cage in the face on the Pit. On the adverse side, we see JUST the Living Forest. No Kombatants.
We then flip and find more of what we know. Less dail-up combos and more customization and trying to find your own. It's also mentions some things we've heard, but not many MAY know about. The online spectator mode in which the spectators rate the fighters on how interresting, cheap, brutal, or anything in between they players were. It also says that there will be real-time comments to the fighters themselves.
There is a mention of "Challenge Tower" which will be an arcade ladder that features additional challenges you must perform to pass that increase in difficulty to perform as they progress. No examples were given, but I assume it'll be things like "Win doing a 30% damage combo" or "Win using no special moves."
They also talk about the power meter: Breakers, X-rays, Enhanced Specials... and they call "Sektor" "Spektor."
On the end of this page (and THIS will be the annoying part cause I can't copy what it says or this will be taken away, I'm sure) there's a list of "Things you didn't know about MK" that, let's face it, as member's of an MK forum, we ALL know.
Next two pages are great with concept art or Cage, Kung Lao, Reptile, Sektor, Mileena, and Subby. They all look the EXACT same as in the ame so don't get too disappointed if you can't find it, save for Subby have tassles from his mask, gloves, and boots. Nothing too new here. Basically just bios.... HOWEVER!!!! The bio for Sub-Zero DOES IN FACT confirm that this IS the older brother. So THAT controversy ends here.
it is also stated that character will all play differently. Some will be fast, some slow, some "throw oriented," some that dont reply on special moves, etc. So expect each character to take a lot more time to master for this game. I'm excited guys.
The next and last two pages is an interview between Ed and John Edwards. Nothing about the new game. Mostly stuff about the industry and where the fighting genre is going. That stuff I'll leave out.
So there you have it. Not a lot of new info but the new arena was a nice reveal and the confirmation of Subby being the older brother was a weight to be lifted to stop the online feuding.

I got interested with the info on how each character will play differently. Kinda reminds me of the Soul Series. All in all, thanks for the post. Nice to get the abridged version once in a while.

True in the MKDA days many of us just took to emailing each other the info but back then there was so much available. Thanks for the Sub info now if only I can find out what happened to my favourite Sub-Zero it's pissing me off (and worrying me as well).

As long as you credit the article with the information and don't scan in the whole issue or anything you can post some of it here. At the very least can you tell us what the bios are in the magazine? I'm interested in reading them.

I wouldn't mind reading the MK timeline part... just to see where I'm right and where I'm wrong on some matters.
The idea of real time comments during online play interests. If it's audio it's all well and good, but if it's text it could prove to be a pain with text popping up while you are concentrating on the fight at hand.

Audio comments would be easier to do than text comment during the fights. Although there would be the issue of angry 8-year olds cursing like sailors. That and people just playing music constantly.

These are problems with online gaming as a whole though. Regardless of what game you play, this kinda behaviour often rears it's ugly-ass head.

I was already shocked when the game was announced, but this Is fantastic, and when Ed boon said: ''Online Is goona be goldej standards'' that seems golden too me, and the gameplay sound fantastic and now we have a confirmation from EGM, thanks who posted it! (Sorry, forgot the name D: althought the problem with audio Is 8 years old swearing because you own theyre freind or people spamming while you are fighting soem guy.

anyways.. goin back too topic, thanks alot for all the new info, it answers a lot of my questions. i still wonder if noob saibots gunna be in it thoo, probly not cause they already have the old sub-zero, but still it would be nice to have him in it too.
