It really bothers me too. I kontinued to kall it MK8 until it got to the point that I had to kall it MK9. But it is MK8 in every respect. MK vs DC was a project.........MORTAL KOMBAT (2011) is a game ^-^

I know Boon was said to have referenced MK vs DCU as MK8 once, but has anyone of the MKTeam called this upcoming game MK9 in any official interviews?

I guess it's officially official that this game will be set in stone as "Mortal Kombat." No crazy subtitle, no number, just Mortal Kombat.

The tentative title is "Mortal Kombat (2011)" but for the purpose of distinguishing it from MK1 we should classify it as MK8.

This has annoyed me to an extent because I was so forthwright in defending my positon that MK vs DC was not MK8. My whole aregument was blown out of the water since this one became 9.

MK vs DC just isn't Mortal Kombat. It's just a fighting game with Mortal Kombat slapped on the cover. It's not part of the story. It is just a spin off, and should NOT be labeled as MK8. Only a legitimate game that is part of the actual storyline should be called MK8. The new Mortal Kombat fits the description.

Each fight needs blood to be spilt. If neither fighter draws the others' blood, then they should both be killed. That could be a cool feature, actually.
