I'm pretty sure no one knows the story of why Scorpion has a spear. I think he used to throw a whip or a spear when he was alive, and when he died, the spear or whip merged with him. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Ah the great debate... does he throw the spear, or is it merged.
It is clear the movies made it out to be something attached to him, but in my opinion Scorpion throws the spear, look in the games, he has to pull to bring the opponent in. If he didn't have to pull then I'd be convinced it was attached to him in some form.

I tend to think that the essence of the scorpion was imbued within Scorpion himself upon his death. Notice how he morphs into a scorpion during one of his fatalities in MK4. The spear represents the tail and the sting of the scorpion naturally.

Takeda (Scorpion) was leader and part of a group of a renegade Lin Kuie Warriors. He designed a clan that specilized in using weapons. I assumed that in his living form, Scorpion threw it or had it launched from something that was attached to his wrist. Like a spear launcher. When he died, it fused into his arm and hand.

Btw i hated the fact that scorpion's spear was a living creature in the movies, it look pretty cool, but it's just not how it was meant to be

I'm reply-ing 2 the person that said that the spear could be merged with Scorp, I really don't think so, cuz when U look at some MK's (including mk1) U will see that the spear accualy comes from behin him, so, it comes of-screen...
