Apparently, according to a recent article on Joystiq.com MK9 will be jumping on the one time online pass bandwagon. The concept is designed to allow publishers to capitalize on second hand game sales. For those of you who are not familiar with the idea...it basically means that if you buy this game as a pre-played title, you will have to purchase an online pass if you have any inklings to online play. (unless of course the previous owner hadn't used the code that came with the game).
Now I'm sure most of us here are not really the type to get rid of an MK game, once its been played...but for interest sake, let me know what you think of this idea.

Hmmmm.... This would a shame if it turns out to be true. Well, for the people that buy the game used. It's almost like forcing people to pay full price for it, even though it's used. But as you said, who would return it?

Ya i think if thats the case people will probably get riped off alot of the time.
If they have to play full price for a used game and not aloud to play online

I don't think it will be full price though. I think you will simply be purchasing an online pass. At least thats how it has worked with some other titles who have started using this concept already.

Not full price, but a little close to it. $10 is pretty steep, just for online.

what is the game selling for 50-60$? if that is the case then i dont think 10$ is too bad.

Anyone who loves the MK games would be a fool to get rid of this game because it's gonna be epic! If this is the case, then I must say it's gonna suck for those who buy the game used. I myself have no intention of getting rid of this game, and will show my domination to the online kommunity, after practice and training, that is.  On a different note, Sethiroph, $69.99 for this? That sucks! I hope you were able to pre order the game, man. Best of luck on that.

I totally agree with that man; many people will take advantage of it
and also noting online is one of best parts about mk9
