Sounds more likely than the Kabal story, though I didn't think Quan Chi and Baraka were connected. I could be wrong here.

I thought Barak was killed in MK:A you would say it was before Baraka was killed, thats why we usually get lost in MK storyline and timeline, I think the creators should put much more clearance in the storyline timeline, i mean who killed who, and when , and how, so we will not see one character dieing 10 timesin the game storyline and then see him in the movie, alive, in like 300 MK years...
