In Ed Boon's interview with Gamespot, he stated that there are 23 playable characters. Now we all know that there are 21 people available/unlockable at the character select screen, so that leaves 2 people that apparently no one knows about. Any theories/thoughts? I think that 23 is an awesome number especially considering that there are no palette swaps and (at least it looks like so far) no people with basically the same moves. But who are these 2 people?? I wanna know NOW dammit!!!! 12 more days!

Sheeva
Sindel
Moloch
Dragon King
Shadow Priest
Torch
Shao Kahn
Liu Kang

I really hope it's Torch. They have yet to have a character that controls fire like Sub-Zero controls ice. I mean Liu Kang did to an extent, but nothing like Torch would.

There was a fire fighter.The Fire God from MKM Sub-Zero.IMO,Torch would be boring.The Shadow Priest would be better.

We know that the first select screen that you see when you start the game only consists of 12 playable characters, you have to unlock the rest of the nine characters to make the full 21 character grid. It is then also stated that in the krypt are more characters to be unlocked beyond the 21...how many who knows(hopefuly alot  ).

I have opened more then half of the Koffins and so far there are no other charaters than the one mentioned. I do have all 21 characters and a lot of sketchs.

Interesting choice of characters, Stryker. Some of them tie in well with the story.
Sheeva- She's been mentioned. And they do want a Shokan in there.
Sindel- Not likely.
Moloch- I'd say he's definetely one. He's the only guy on the list we know for sure is there.
Dragon King- I'd like too see him. About 50/50 chance.
Shadow Priest- Again, I don't see this guy turning up.
Torch- We've been told he'll turn up sometime. Could it be now?
Shao Kahn- Also been mentioned. We know he's still alive.
Liu Kang- Was the MK hero, and like him or not Liu is popular.
Zebron- Hardly think so, but we know Boon's got a sense of humour so there is a chance.

These are my picks for the last two that we haven't seen....
Smoke (big possiblity)
Shao Kahn (Jus' think it's possible)
Sektor
Kabal (if he's still alive)
Tanya (nothing said about her, so why not?)
Any two of these five would be satisifactible (if this is a word) to me.

All these characters could be in the game. Good ideas y'all. Here are my theories:
Moloch: Everyone thinks that he'll be playable, but in the past, Goro, Kintaro, and Motaro were not playable in MK, MK2, and MK3 respectively. Plus, if Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are playable, I don't see Boon making EVERY boss playable. I don't think he's such a lock to be playable, in fact, I don't think he'll be playable at all.
Noob: What's an MK game without Noob. He's been in every game since MK2 to some capacity (I'm not including the side stories). I say that he's one of the characters. He could even be the character from MK2, but I doubt it.
Dragon King: Very possible. If he's such a big part of the story, and Boon talked about him, it's only likely that he'll be in the game. Whether he's playable or not, I'd say it's 50/50 also. I still think that he should be in it though, it would help the storyline alot.
Shao Khan: I'm seriously doubting it. He's a part of the story line, but I'd give him a 30% chance. Still, I'm hoping for a new look Khan, that'd be sweet.
Any other characters from the past are possible, though less likely.

Barakaz Blade Hso Hao is not Sho Kahn sorry dogg, but I did hear that there is a very good chance that Sho Kahn is in the game
