|
| |
sorry, i have lost a months worth of update and info since the begining of october i think, i've been dealing with stuff here, anyone care to tell me what has happened within the month? now i know i could just as well read but i figure i'd ask all you.
and somethign about a big surpise when you beat like the whole game or something, some talk about it being a mkII thing, or mk, or other stuff. maybe in the game you never get to figure out who the dragon king is and when you beat EVERYTHING that has to do with the game, maybe it reveals it to you, then lets you use him as aplayable charecter or something. i'd prefer soemthing like a new charecter like that or torch or something rather than mkII, i mean i have it for my snes, but now say if the disks had enough room to like make mkII 3-d full interactive invironment like mkda is then sure then they can add mkII to it. or what they coudl have done is have 2 seprate teams working on different mkII stuff and they release a mkII 3-d game on the market to kind of tide us over till mkda's release.
i think an mkII 3-d would look cool but yeah....i just lost my train of thought and i'm gonna go back to bed now lol

Ed Boon promised a "big surpize" once all of the koffins and all the Konquest missions are complete. According to an interview at http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ Ed Boon says that there will be two items that seem to work together - one is unlocked after completing every mission in Konquest mode and the other is unlocked after ever coffin in the Krypt is unlocked.
This leads me to believe that these items work together is some fashion and I'm leaning towards one being ROM images and the other item to being an Emulator that, when combined, emulates the original arcade version of MK1 (or possibly both MK1 and MK2). Unfortunately, some people have taken my loose prediction as actual FACT - as Gospel - and that's not a smart thing to do.
Even though I posted one heck of a convincing argument on MK5.org's forums (good site but it needs some friggin' bandwidth - it's really slow or unavailable for me), I'm also prepared for this emulation prediction of mine to turn out false - I don't want to get my hopes up and I don't want others to get their hopes up (but if they do and my prediction turns out to be false, that's their problem) either because that would kinda suck.
But I can't stop them - if they want to take my prediction as fact, well then they better not blame me if it turns out to be false. Personally, it would be one heck of a welcome "big surprize" but I'm also prepared for let down because what might be a "big surpize" to Ed Boon...might be a big yawn to us.
We won't know for sure until we get our grubby little hands on the sucker and find out for ourselves.

Well, we know we have two secret characters. We know that he said we ulock some in the crypt and some in Konquest.... so my guess, and if I was a betting man, I'd put down $50 on this one..... is that it is 2 secret characters. anyways, time will tell, but that's my prediction. a safe one, true, but I still think I'm right about that one. _________________ Those were $500 sunglasses, asshole.

I bet that one of the two suprises would be MK1-MK4 backgrounds unlocked, and the second would be MK1-MK4 characters unlocked, which would be cool as hell! _________________ Revenge is a dish best served cold!

they wouldnt call it a "big surprise" if it involved a character that doesnt even exist. tourch isnt even a character. and nore is this "hornbuckle" all that was, was a clue...some say tourch is the hidden character that has ties to the mk2 back ground....but it isnt him, cause hes NOT A CHARACTER. its a guy that has been caught on fire by liu kang. yes liu kang, look at it you can see it plane as day.
not only that, but the guy in the interview said the person has "ties" meaning the person might not even appear on that back ground. smoke is connected to the living forrest, the portal, and goro's lair...how do we know it isnt baraka? he has ties to the wastelands (thats where hes from)..by the way, what cool mkda site did you get that from?

I hope the big surprise is the return of Liu Kang.
I know that not all of you would like that to happen, but you have to face the facts, there is no Mortal Kombat without Liu Kang.

scorpio---> It isnt liu kang that set torch on fire it actualy is a palet swap of liu kang that they named hornbuckle. This has been confirmed by Boon himself. Also I want to raise a idea that it could even very well be Jade that is one of the secret characters, remember she pokes her head from behind a tree in MKII. LOL actualy it could be lots of people do you know how many people have "ties" to MKII almost all of them in one way or another. Im not ripping on you either scorpio I just wanted to bring that too your attention thats all. _________________ Revenge is a dish best served cold!

The truth is there's no such hidden character (never was, never is, never will be) in the MK legacy known as "Hornbuckle". In fact, that name never cropped up until the SNES version of MK II in which Jade or Smoke might appear at the beginning of the round and say, "Hornbuckle Who?"
It was a big joke.
The SNES version of MK II was developed by Sculptured Software, and published by Acclaim. A lady by the name of Leanne Hornbuckle was one of the many Sculptured Software employees that was involved with the SNES conversion project (her name scrolls in the credit when you beat Shao Kahn). She never was a Midway employee and the MK design team at Midway had nothing do with her, or that inside "Hornbuckle Who?" joke.
Therefore, there was never - EVER - a hidden character named "Hornbuckle" and if you believed there was, the joke is on YOU.
Not to be outdone in the joke department, the Genesis/32x versions of MKII contained a "Fergality" - it was done during "The Armory" stage using Raiden. When the commands for this finisher was done, Raiden would transform into a space man with the face of Fergus McGovern - the producer at Probe Software that was in charge of converting MKII to the Genesis - and the screen would read "RAYDEN WINS -- FERGALITY!"
For the record, Acclaim later bought Sculptured Software, merged it with Iguana, and renamed it "Acclaim Studios Teeside", which has been responsible for Turok ever since.

We never said there was or is or has been a hidden character named hornbuckle! What was stated was that in MKII there is a person named hornbuckle fighting torch in the pit II stage. There was some one saying that torch or hornbuckle might be in MKDA but thats about all I saw. So the characters do exist, if you dont belive me pop in MKII and go to the pit II stage...then tell me they dont exist. _________________ Revenge is a dish best served cold!
