Why does Scorpion's spear look bigger during the fatality than during gameplay???

Scorpion throws his spear into their head, and its stuck so Scorp starts tugging on it twice while blood is pouring out of the head, and on the third and last tug he rips the head/brain clear off their body... 
P.S. I couldn't tell if it was a head or a brain... sorry
