I was fortunate enough for my local Babbages to get MKDA at 6PM on the 18th and I picked it immediately. In case some of you want proof of this...here ya go (kinda pardon my George Carlin-esque rictus, tho) 
Anyway, I just want to say that I don't think any of you folks will be disappointed. This game is INTENSE and any combo greater than 3 hits requires bigtime SKILL. We're gonna be hard pressed to totally master this game inside and out and I love it. I'm really impressed with what Midway has delivered. Oh, even though I have the PS2 version, the loading times are pretty fast, which really surprized me (3-5 seconds - 7 seconds tops).
As you can tell from the pic, I have a digital camera, and unlike other clandestines sources, if I ever unlock something in the krypt regarding extra fatalties or stage fatalites, I'm snapping a pic and posting it.  I also want to make it clear that I don't doctor pictures because...well, I don't know how! Seriously, I had to ask someone on NvNews.Net's forums to make my "Sub Plucking Sy's Melon" avatar for me!!
Well, I need some sleep (been up since 9PM Sunday evening) as I have to work later on (but MKDA is coming with me - the TV at work has S-Video while mine only has crappy composite jacks).

You're very lucky!!!! I don't think I'll ever get to play this game  !!!!
I'm very curious if Quan Chi has an alternate outfit and if yes, what it looks like . I'm also curious of Li Mei and Nitara, of their moves, fatalities, etc.

I ordered my GCN version from EBgames.com, should be here in the morning.
Here's what ticks me off -- I saw it at MediaPlay today. Argh!...
Is it true that the game uses the D-Pad instead of the Analog stick?

It's a must have if you're a true MK fan. If you're new to the whole MK scheme, it'll be hard to get attached to this one. I have the X-BOX version and the graphics are huge and loading times are very quick (2-5 secs at the most). The "Test Your Sight" mode is very easy and the "Test Your Might" area is impossible past marble. I've yet to break the anvil looking thing, but have broken many kombantants limbs trying to do so. It's a very fun game, and it'll take hours on top of hours of playing to master one character. It'll take forever to master them all. Combos are difficult, but worth the damage once you get em' figured out. Moloch is hard, but I've beat him with Scorpion, anything else, feel free to ask.

Well I know nothing about that baraka thing, but I have the Scorpion vid.
Its a funny little video about a commercial about Scorpions cooking show. It shows him chopping stuff with an axe.

This ame totally rocks. I love it! I have masterd Sub Zero and am on the way to Scorpion. Reppy, buy this damn game. It is so fun, its not even explainable. Lol i only wish i knew how to do fatalitys. Oh yeah and whoever asked about Quan Chi he does have an alternate costume. It aint that cool.  Quan Chis fatality is also retarded. (He did it on me) if you wanna know it pm me cuz i dont think the baord admins will like me to much if i dont post "spoiler" on this. Ok, i;m out. Later

Okay, I'm finally home! Let's get right to the answers!
Quan Chi's alternate outfit is the same gear he wore in MK4. I haven't unlocked Nitara yet. As for Li Mei, she's great and I like her Fatality: She steps back a few feet, dances a little like Forrest Law from Tekken, then punts them right in the chest. They wail and the "bloody popcorn" gushes out from the back. She witthdraws her foot, spilling more blood with a "slosh" sound. There's a 1-2 second pause as Li Mei watches her victim stand there then she delievers a HBK superkick to their head and it explodes in gore. The body slumps to the ground.
Oh, some of you might have read descriptions of Quan Chi's Fatal and rolled your eyes (I sure did) but I was getting beat by him really bad. I had a buddy over watching and Quan did it (after Quan stretches their neck, the victim tries to walk it off and they fall forward on their face since their elonged neck and the weight of their head throws off their center of gravity). My buddy thought it was so damned hilarious that he spewed his Mountain Dew through his nose and choked for a good 10 minutes. After I beat the game, I picked Quan Chi and everytime I did his Fatality, my friend would just go into cackle fits!
The "Baraka's Demise" video is nothing but his ending from MK Gold. As for "Cooking With Scorpion", it just a video parody of those strange info-mercials that hawk cooking videos. Carlos Pesina is in Scorpions outfit armed with a cleaver doing crazy stuff in a kitchen with the announcer doing a voice-over. It's worth a titter or two.
"Test Your Sight" can be difficult passed level 4 (I've beat the max level only once, though). As for "Test Your Might", I can break the steel girder but after that is the diamond and there's just no way in hell short of a controller with turbo that anyone is going to break it. I mean, in MK1, I could break the diamond while the timer still said "9" - that's how fast I was. But, in MKDA...bouncing between the diamond and the steel girder will drive you NUTS and it sucks since that's the only way to get those precious Plantinum coins.
As for the game itself, it's a must-buy, regardless if you're a fan or not. I think this is the best MK since MK2 but the drastic changes to the gameplay could alienate a number of the diehard folks. Not to be mean but my opinion is LET THEM BE ALIENATED. You can't live in the past forever and Midway absolutely had to make these drastic changes in order to for the game to viable. Ed Boon stated flat out, "We are NOT developing this game to the gamer's expectations" so if you expecting some of the same monotony of the previous MKs where you could dominate using the same 3-4 moves over and over, you'll hate MK Deadly Alliance because that isn't in there. This game requires and rewards actual raw skill. If you don't take the time to get used to MKDA's changes and develop actual skills, the computer will make you pay and pay dearly you will!! I myself am pretty decent at the game, but I cringe everytime I get Sonya just before Moloch because she is vicious!! If she does a Neijin then quickly goes back into her Kempo stance...then go dig a grave because she'll getting set to reverse the first thing you do, then unleash an 12-hit 43% damage combo on you (the same combo is only 31% damage without the Neijin). If she does it to you while you against the wall, you'll take more damage. Sonya is a force to be reckoned with but she also happens to be one of the easiest and fun characters to use! Her combos and styles flow naturally. Jax, on the hand, is worthless. So worthless that even Hsu Hao - a character blasted as being "generic" by reviews because of his severely limited combos - makes Jax look like a fairy. Why? With Hsu Hao's overall brute strength, you don't need a lot of combo versatility. Jax is just depressing and so hard to use that the mirror match with him on Conquest took me 30 minutes and countless tries to beat it.
Most of the fighters, however, are fairly easy to use but some might be more challenging (Sub Zero, Kitana, Reptile) while a small percentage of the others (Raiden, Kitana, Mavado) might be a downright chore to make headway with and will definately take some extra time.
All in all, I think MKDA slightly falls slightly short of VF4 but throttles Tekken 4. I can't compare it to DOA because the latest chapter in DOA is too old, this making it an unfair comparison. Aslo, since I've never played Soul Calibur 2, I can't make a judgement call on that but if it's anything Soul Calibur 1, both it and MKDA will be neck and neck for second place in terms of "best fighting game".
