Yes...

I'll describe it with icons instead - Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Some are decent, some make you go, "hmmm," and there's two endings that's are just totally "Holy freaking crap, that rocks!!" Twisted Evil

No. It's just like MK1 - still pictures and text but Raiden is the narator.
I like it better this way because it allows for more story to be told and takes alot less time (and DVD space) to offer movie-like endings.

As for how many characters you get to start with, check out GameFAQs.

Thanx for the info! Li Mei's and Quan Chi's fatalities kick ass! I'm surprised Rayden is harder to use, he was so easy to use in every MK game. And Jax...I felt he's gonna be tiring and boring...but who knows, he can be my fav whenever I'll get to play this game someday in 2010... or later Sad

Kenshi is a great character! Very fun to use. The detail they put into his manerisms and Fatality is damn good (you'll understand what I mean when you do his Fatality against Kano as opposed to other characters). His animation during Test Your Sight is funny. Very Happy

Kenshi's Fatality: He concentrates, causing the victim to levitate a foot or two off the ground. The victims eyes burst from their head and hit the ground (in Kano's case, only 1 eye hits the ground). From there, Kenshi psychically contorts their body one appendage at a time ending by snapping their neck. He then stops concentrating, and the victim's mangled carcass drops on the ground right by their eyeball(s). Laughing

Decent Fatality! Smile

The only bad things I have about the game is...

1) One Fatality per character. I'm sorry 2 Fatals + 1 stage were an acceptable and expectable standard and it shouldn't have been broken. Midway should've known better but apparently they like hate mail and I bet their inbox will be bursting with complaints about this. Granted, Ed Boon said that they were NOT building this game to the fans expectations, and I applaud him (we don't really want another "spear+uppercut" rise, wash, repeat rehash do we) but skimping out of the Fatalities wasn't wise. They could've AT LEAST allowed themselves that exception. But, the mail will wake them up, and if there is an MK6 or whatnot, they know they'd had better have more that 1 Fatality per character. Gamers speak with their wallets.

So in case Ed Boon is reading this, the only thing I got to say is:

Fool us once (MKDA), shame on you.
Fool us twice (MK6), shame on us and don't bother with MK7.

2) The lack of a deeper throwing system. MKDA could've benefited from different styles of throws depending on if you're front of the opponent, on their side, or behind them.

That's about it.

Damn Kenshi sounds tight as hell... and when u were talkn' about the throws u mean sumthing like they did in Tekken??? Yeah that would be good in the next MK... 2 fatalitys and 1 stage is a standard must have... if they don't have that in MK6 I'm not getting it... so wise up Mr. Boon!!!

I can understand why this would upset people, going backwards in the number of fatalites. This is the way that I see it though (keep in mind I still don't have the damn game yet, damnit). I would rather they work on the actual mechanics of the game making it more enjoyable to play with a better replay value than eye-candy. Which is all fatalities are, well, at least to me they are. This is the only fighting game ever to even have this in there game which to me is still (even after 10 years, 5 games) icing on the cake. My take on MK6 if they even do it is. I could really careless if they still only had one fatality and 5 different stages. To me that really means little, I like the actual game over any other fighting game (Killer Instict 2 takes a very close second) because of how "skill" based the game is over something like tekken which seems to be, "who can press buttons faster and hit each other more with the crappy blocking system they offer". Just how I feel, not trying to start anything, really. Rolling Eyes

I also must say PsychoSy you post about 10 years of Mortal Kombat was probably the best thread I've ever seen on these boards. You explained yourself very well and it was nice sitting there after reading your post remembering myself at that point when I was 11 years old. I'll never forget how badass I thought the game looked, it blew me away.

I do have one question though about this game that is making me a little bit worried. Now there's three different stances that you can have, do they have it where you do two of the stances with one button and the weapon one with another button? That would really suck because I plan on buying the arcade style controller for better control and I believe it only has six buttons. (HP,LP,Block,HK,LK,Weapon stance,Karate stance = seven buttons). If so, is it possible to change it to one button? That would be a pain also though, cycling through three different styles while trying to pull off combos. This would be great if someone could explain this to me, it's a big thing I'm worried about. Either way it's gonna sorta suck the way I see it.

I can answer that one... I think... I don't have the game yet 2... but from what my friend told me that all the stances can be switched w/ the push of ONE button... and their r 4 stances: 2hand-to-hand, 1 weapon, and 1 fatality... did that help Luc???

Yes, thanks very much. With it only being one button does that make it a pain in the ass pulling off combos? I guess you would just have to remember the order of all the stances. Hmm, could be a good thing in a way to make it more difficult.
