the XBox version of the game sometimes freezes when frost, the female Sub-zero, uses her Ground Freeze move, and the PS2 version constantly skips the opening sequeneces which we all know reveals the death of Earthrealm champion Liu Kang.
Not to worry, though... these glitches WILL be fixed for their release in other countries! So don't worry too much about it if you bought a console for the game and you think you might get a major glitch here! You should be fine! (however, US residents are shit out of luck....)
If you own a PS2, you can sometimes view the sequence by pressing triangle to exit the game's menu. If not, try, try again!

I have the PS2 version and usually the opening movie plays fine.
It always plays when the system is first powered up and the only time I haven't seen it played when hitting the triangle button is if a profile isn't loaded at the time.
I have both controllers plugged in and profiles stored on memory card 1.
I've read that if you only have 1 controller plugged in, you'll never experience this bug.

You're right, but I also have a second memory card in, and I think that's making it worse, but I don't care--I've seen it.
