Get good with the nunchaku, dude. If you get good with them, they'll save your ass more times than any other style. (Assuming you know what you're doing.) _________________ Those were $500 sunglasses, asshole.

My favorite fighter is Scorpion, but Johnny Cage is very cool as well. I like to use him in MK4, he's one of the best fighters in that game. _________________

Okay anybody know if Johnny Cage has been in every MK game or not? Also can you unlock any of his endings in the krypt? _________________ "Johnny Cage Wins!" (Man I bet I've heard that phrase more then "Honey the baby needs a diaper change!" and believe me that's saying a lot)

But in MK Trilogy, Cage came back and boy, was he just sick and wrong!
He'd fold me as I were a peice of lawn furniture!

He didn't have his low blow in MKT because he wasn't filmed for MK3, either.
(there was a graveyard in MK3 and one of the tombstones had his name on it.) _________________ Those were $500 sunglasses, asshole.

This is the very first part of the Johnny Cage FAQ I'm creating, give it a look what do you think? I intend to have a combo section on each of his stances, his history, the things you can find in the krypt that are related to him, some kombat strategies, and if you guys want to see anything else just leave a message and I'll be sure to include it.
Introduction: Okay by the second week of playing Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance you should (in my opinion) already have found the character you work best with. The character that fights in styles you can identify with, the character in which you are committed to learning every move, every combo, every aspect of. The character in which you devote (or plan to) hours just in the simple practice mode, trying out combos, new techniques or for beginners just discovering and committing to memory their basic moves and attributes. You must devote time in the practice mode if you ever want to master the character you choose to emulate. Make sure you know what moves go with what styles, this is what I found to be the most difficult aspect of the game, it takes time but itÂ’s worth it.
For me I chose Johnny Cage. If you are reading this FAQ then either you have chosen him as well or you arenÂ’t sure yet as to which character you wish to devote your game time using. For me the choice was difficult, after all Scorpion has the easy to use combos, BlazeÂ’s speed and power are the best in the game and do not underestimate Sub Zero, Raiden, Reptile and the rest. Any character can be mastered and ultimately deadly given enough time (Yes even Drahmin). But I like using Cage because he's fast, his moves are creative, (his specials could have been better but his fighting stances are unique) and IÂ’ve been a Johnny Cage fan for awhile.
Now this is not an RPG in that you do not have to offer all of your time to it. I have a life, a new wife, and a child so do not think that to master a character you must stay in a small room until your skin turns pale and your friends all think youÂ’ve died. For me I play about two hours a night, mostly in the practice mode because for me that is where my time is best spent, IÂ’ve played the arcade and Konquest modes sure but for me mastering JohnnyÂ’s combos, and committing them to memory while discovering when to implement them is the foundation for a newly purchased game. This guide will tell you all of the tricks I had to discover from those relaxing and some times ultimately frustrating two hours.
Fighting Style’s: Johnny Cage’s karate stance is a decent defensive stance but it lacks any real low attacks. In his karate stance he can perform his flip kick (Up + B) and his double flip kick (Up + B, B) this is a fun move that is hard to defend against, it is best used at the end of his Karate combos. The ‘special move’ button in his karate stance performs a shove, this move “shoves” a blocking opponent, and this can be very useful when your up against a strictly defensive opponent. He can perform a “pop up” move in this stance as well (Forward + Y) this slams the opponent to the ground and the force of impact makes the character “pop” back up leaving him defenseless and leaving you with the option of repeating the attack.
Johnny Cage’s major stance is Jet Kune Do; it is in this stance that he can perform both good mid and low attacks. In his Jet Kune Do stance he can perform his Juggle Knuckle Fist Pop Up attack (Back, X) this is not unlike his pop up move in his Karate stance in that he can repeat it after the first connects. This move “pops” his opponent in the air leaving you plenty of time to repeat it. The ‘special move’ button in his Jet Kune Do stance performs a taunt. A taunt is an action the character performs that boosts his health to a certain degree. You need a moderate amount of time to perform a taunt so make sure your opponent is relatively far away before you attempt this. A good technique to use is the Shadow Kick (Left, Right + B) this knocks your opponent away giving you ample time to preform the taunt saftley.
Johnny Cage’s weapon stance is the nunchaku, this is my favorite weapon stance on account of its speed and it’s interesting combos. It does have a downside however; it is a close combat weapon, which means you need a pretty good strategy when dealing with Raiden’s long staff or even Sub Zero's large Kori Blade. He also has a “pop up” move in his Nunchaku stance called a Cross Back Strike. This is similar to the Juggle Knuckle Fist Pop Up in his Jet Kun Do stance and the Double Kick Flip in his Karate Stance in that he can repeat the move while his attacker is still reeling from the impact of the first. The ‘special move’ he can perform in this stance is the Side Step Swing which is just another form of Scorpion's Side Step Swing only with nunchaku instead of a katana.
Johnny CageÂ’s special moves are his Forceball, his Shadow Kick, and his Uppercut. His Shadow Kick is extremely useful to end combos with, but you canÂ’t use this unless you know your going to hit your opponent because if he blocks then the opposition has a great combo opportunity. Use the Johnny Uppercut to dodge projectiles, for example when you'r attacking scorpion and he launches his spear, just preform the move and you can not only dodge the spear but also take full advantage of his suspended state, used properly it could mean the difference from victory and defeat.
Okay I just wrote it, didn't really feel like giving it a second look (too tired) well I'm going to add a lot more later of course, this is just the intro stuff any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I used the X Box key, I'm going to go back through it and replace them with numbers like the strategy guide. Also I will go back and fix some sentence structure and grammer problems I'm bound to find. Anyway my point is this is my very first draft, so it aint perfect _________________ "Johnny Cage Wins!"
