I can now beat Moloch on Normal with Johnny Cage, Kung Lao and Sub Zero. After completing Konquest with both Sub Zero and Kung Lao I find it easier but still can't defeat him with Scorpion

You have to use Scorpion's sword to really do well against him, as Scorpion. Use that one combo where he spins like crazy.....

I play on Normal. I can beat Moloch with Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Shang Tsung and Jax so far.
As for the Oni question: I don't really like Moloch, the idea is good, but I don't like his moves. The best sub-boss ever was Kintaro.
Drahmin - haven't unlocked him yet, but played against him in Konquest mode ... didn't like him.
So, I guess that the answer is: They both suck.
Many of the new character suck actually ... I would throw Bo' Rai Cho, Hsu Hao and Mavado with no sorrow. Drahmin needs to be redesigned.
I guess I'm the kind that likes more or less classic characters ... Frost, Li Mei, and Nitara (all women ...  )

Kintaro was a completely overpowered, unfair and cheap sub-boss. I hate him. Goro was better.
And I can now beat Moloch with everyone except Drahmin and Kitana.

drahmin is ok, but moloch is such a little cheap arse, he is so slow
and to da_scorpionking, i found the mk1 goro the easiest sub-boss ever created

Moloch is crap. So long as you got a character that can manage at least a 3 hit combo then he's pretty easy.
Drahmin's lack of combo's sucks as well. Both need combos next game, but not if Moloch is a sub boss. He takes plenty of damage off with hits. Any combo with more than two hits could kill people just like that.

He always swipes inwards so after blocking one swing if you time a quick sidestep so he misses you, you can jump right in and lay into him. You can usually pull off about three combos before the idiot even realises to start blocking.

so far the people i met that fight moloch have to use scorpion and kenshi
and i agree but, Sub-zero can take him out quicker than any one
just use is dragon fighting style block a swing from the giant shit
and lay into him
