im probably upset becuase I am not the gaming God that i beleive I am but has anyonelse noticed how the computer becomes extremly cheap too the point where its almost cheating?

ex: It always able to block no matter what.
ex: You can sidestep so mcuh that you are behind the computer opponent and the computer is still able to hit you
ex: This is very common with Frost, you clearly avoided her freezing ground attack i.e. your feet are not on the ice and you are still frozen.
ex: Both Quan Ji and Shang Stung do this at the end of arcade, they can block you but you cant block them i.e. they do a really long combo (that you block) and are still able to block or counter ur next hit where you do a super long combo (that they block) and you arent able to do shit bout their attack. This relates to the first example.

i have finish the game whit 6 fighter at hard difficulty not max
& comp when you fight shang & quanchi yeah that true these guys are freak & block almost ur hit & sometime with frost when u freeze & the comp is not crouch & he wont freeze
& he hit you while u block & that hurt you
u do the same & he block u
well i have beated the game in 25 min
& we need some pratice lol the max dificulte is too fuckin hard lol

moloch is cheap...he only uses 4 moves...and he does the same ones like 800 times in a row...

I beat the Game on Max with Scorpion (My best character) yesterday, and yes the fighters are cheap as hell.

The only way to beat them is either:

1. Never mess Up and memorize long ass combos.

2. Be just as cheap as them.

I managed to do a little of both, mostly option 2.

After fighting a character for a while, you get to see their patterns and their weaknesses.

The hardest characters for me were, Reptile, Frost, and Kano, they were just too damn fast and cheap as hell.

Moloch is easy, wait for his jab, block, attack with a nice combo, keep repeating it if it still hits him, if it doesnt, block again - repeat. This always works with every character. Oh and on Max, Moloch did a 3-hit combo, Two jabs, and a throw.

Krypt Currency wise, I think I got 1250 Rubies for whacking Shang Tsung.

I wish I could comment on this subject but I STILL haven't got the damn game yet. Puke Puke

I'am getting it tonight though.

This isn't anything new as far as I'm concerned no? I mean every MK has it's cheapness involved. In EVERY MK if you try and throw them, guess what happens? Yes, they somehow throw you, no matter if there falling down, getting up, in the middle of a combo. It doesn't matter, it's a stupid ass bug they've never seem to over come. I guess if they didn't do it that way it would be really easy to beat the computer.

That's how all these fighting games are on hard mode, I don't care what game it is. They do things you would never even think of and always seeming to know your next move. That's the fun in it and yes it does get old when everything you do doesn't seem to work.

Another thing I've noticed in all the MK's is that there's always some sort of bug of where you could be cheap. I don't remember what the first MK was but in number two you could throw a punch out there and the computer would either throw something at you or just do something you could learn to counter easily. In number three it seemed to be the worst. I mean when you were about half the screen apart if you walked forward towards them they walk backwards and vise versa. While your doing that though if you jump backwards and do a jumpkick they almost ALWAYS throw a projectile at you, this was the best thing to be cheap with using Scorpion with his teleport move, or Raiden for that matter. In number four again same distance as number three, throw a punch out there and they will either walk for a little bit towards you and jump or they will walk a bit then do a footsweep.

I'm sure this game also has something stupid like that but I really hope it's a bit harder to figure out then those were. I mean comon the AI has to be smarter with todays technology. I just hope this game really lives up to the hype I've been reading on these boards. I want it to be a pain in the ass, challenging and very hard to beat. To me beating MK 4 over and over and over even with a crappy controller gets very boring and since none of my friends don't like it because they can't do a half circle and hit a button let alone these combos makes it even better in my eyes.

I could really careless that they only have one fatality, like I said before I'd rather they work on the mechanics and physics of the game over eye candy. Eye candy does not produce replay value, at least not to me.

Oh don't worry, you'll find a cheap way to beat the characters.

I know I did.

In this game, actually, the special (On the GC it's the Z button), works quiet well. Whenever you finish a combo, make sure to use your special, even if they block right away, press it again and try again.

I managed to catch the fastest characters with this cheap trick. Its simplest the most with Quan Chi, but I managed to do it with Scorpion as well.

Some characters are almost impossible to catch offguard, while others are real easy to catch offguard. Just make sure to start off quick, preferably with a combo that starts off with a "AA, or BB, or XX, or Y Y" etc.

Oh and Powering Up does help, but it's difficult to pull off. It raises the power of all your hits.

actually where I have the most trouble is with the character right before moloch. It doesnt matter which character it is whether its Frost or Drahmin, the computer finds some way to be extremly cheap. But then, they all of a sudden lose their cheapness for one round then like get pissed off and no matter what I do, there are onlt 2 things that happen: I get blocked or I get hit. Again, this always happens with the character right before moloch and then I am able to beat Shang Stung and Quan Ji with ease compared to whatever character was before Moloch.

I like the topic. The CPU has been cheap since the beginning of the series on the hardest level. I've found my hardest character to defeat so far on MAX was Raiden. He has this long ass combo that utilizes all three fighting stances that even if you block it, he get you with his staff at the end of the combo. The weird thing about Raiden is that the VERY first time I played on MAX, I played him. I won with Scorpion, that gave me all this confidence in my skills. Until I got to the second guy, he mopped the floor with Scorpion and anyone else that I picked for that matter. So I backed out to the main menu, again I beat the first person on MAX with no problem. This time my second or third fighter was Raiden again (like he was coming back for revenge). It took me 35 minutes to defeat him alone. He got like 20 wins in a row before I beat his ass. Anyway, before this gets too long, the CPU's AI is incredible on this game compared to any other MK. There's no repeating moves to get by or trying reptitve "cheap" moves. At least none I've found so far (there's always bugs). The king of cheap moves on MAX is Cyrax. It's ridiculous how horrible he gets when you're about to beat him. He hides behind a his "star wars" blade and pulls that spinning blade out to keep you away from him. It's sick. Anyone else notice that?

Toughest for me is Jax. Funny thing is, Cage doen't have very big combos (well, 33% or so, but still....) But when I use him, I usually hand the Deadly alliance their asses on the firsst try. Everyone else--I have to repeat a lot. It goes to show that playing as one charcter more oftten really helps you master them.

The cheapest character I've gone head-2-head against is Sonya... THAT DAMN TRIPLE KICK MOVE SHE DOES IN TAE KWON DO... also Mavado's hookswords are hard as fuck 2 block... I beat MAX w/ Scopion in 33min, Kenshi in 42min, and Reptile in 38min... still trying w/ Sub-Zero but its hard as hell...

After beating Max over and over again, there are a couple things I'd like to share.

Tips I have learned that every MK: DA owner must know:

1. Learn to EVADE! I'm talking about timing your evade correctly so you can pummel your opponents. Your opponents are vulnerable 95% of the time.

2. Learn the Patterns of your enemy. 1st Round they are well balanced. 2nd round they start evading and inturn, get on the offensive leaving you vulnerable. Recognizing their patterns, helped me find a weak point in every enemy.

3. Learn the combos that inflict the most severe damage and learn to repeat without error. First time I played it on Max, the only combos I could pull off were combos that ranged around 15%-20% damage. This meant the fights took longer, and winning was very uncommon.

4. Stay away from the WALLS! The computer AI will take advantage of this and inflict heavy damage on you. And if you didn't know by now...the more you get whacked against the wall, the more energy you lose.[/b]
