Two questions:
1.Is it true that you can only reach Reptile in MK1 as Scorpion or Sonya?
2.Did anyone of you ever fight Reptile? And if yes....did you defeat him? I'm just curious because I didn't fight him yet.

1. No, that's not true, but the fact is that U CAN'T fight him with Sonya, cuz of the Block that goes in her Fatality (F,F,B,B+BLK), as for Scorpion, U don't HAVE 2 press block 2 do his Fatality...
2. Yeah, I fought him once, on the SNES version, and I won, he's not all that hard...
Ps. The demands 2 fight Reptile are different for most version of MK1, on SNES it's double flawless and a Fatality on the CPU on the Pit, in the Arcade (and most other versions) U need 2 see things (such as UFO's and Santa Claus) fly in the background, wich only happens once in the X matches...

Actully, they fixed this bug in revision 4 on Arcade. So you could fight reptile with Sonya or Scorpion, But the easy way to do it with Scorpion is go yo fatality distance and keep pressing up Scorpion doesnt need Block to do a fatality in MK1
I have fought reptile many times, including twice on arcade in the same game, (pretty rare, depends if you get the stage bug or not)

Sector: yep hit F10 to goto the options screen then type 'DIP' (must be capitals) then you will be presented with 10 DIP Switches, turn on Dip Switch 8 for All the time shadows.

Just download an emu and rom and do it on the snes or genesis version. Reptiles not really hard, hes quick, and and has sub and scorps moves. Intresting thing, His skeleton is green if you do Scorp or Sonyas fatality. Pretty neat.

I dont know about Sonya but Scorpian, you can still fight reptil with him, all you have to hit is up, 2 times, then it does the fatality, but when i fought reptile in mk1 i used lue kang, and i used the block button for the fatality and it still worked, and yes i have fought reptile he is really really fast and hard, but if u beat him once, and continue to play and end up fighting him again, he looks all weird and is 10xs harder.

OK... something is amiss here. I fought Reptile with all the 7 characters and had no problem. I have the SNES version and how I see it, you can use block if your doing a fatality to the guy... nothing else.
ANd your other question... yes I've been there at him with all the fighters. I've beaten him though. It has a mixture of Sub-Zero and Scorpion in him.

Yeah but the console versions don't count because they are fucking gh3y man. I like the fact that it was very hard to get to fight Reptile on arcade..I liked that...it made it more elusive...then the SNES version comes out and fucked it up big time, no shadows...you can block...and to me that really sucks.
On the Arcade version of the game, You get that shadow maybe once every 10-15 games... thats only one chance to fight Reptile, thats just a chance...you then have to beat the player double flawless and peform fatality without using block, not always an easy task on arcade.

Also, Total MK... There are 3 versions of the SNES version out there and I beleive the last version that is out there has the Shadows and the no block thing...
I came to the conclusion that the Third version of it is vastly rare. I have the second version. But still doesn't have shadows and/or blocky-ness.
