Which system is better to own?
I was reading a thread on here and a lot of people sway back and forth about any of the consoles. Yet...a lot of people are also dodging Nintendo GameCube because a lot of it's games are rated E. Well this might be all true, but Nintendo also has a lot of Rated T and M games out there. Most games that are out for the Playstation and X-Box are coming out for the GameCube as well. If you take a look at the Nintendo Website, you will see that, All those games rated T and M will be released for the gamecube later in 2003. They're about 180 games ready to be released this year. But that's not really the whole point. I give you I own the GameCube and I have owned every Nintendo system that ever came out. Except that poor excuse Virtual Boy. And I love Nintendo...but hey...Playstation and X-Box have their good games too...X-Box is a little behind on it's quality latley...but anyways...everyone...be happy that you even HAVE a next generation console...there's a lot of people out there who have other things to worry about...like eating, and such as...so be greatful, weather you have a GameCube, PS2, or X-Box...it doesn't matter...

I luvs me Gamecube...and it may not have alot of M games, but thats not what makes a good system. And alot of Nintendos E games kick the X-box and Ps2's M games ass..BTW Dead to Rights is sweet... _________________

XBOX is the most powerful, graphically the best, and gets some GREAT games due to this, but most of the games it gets aren't really that good. The controller sucks ass, too. (even the new S-Controller, IMO.)
Gamecube has Nintendo's first party lineup, which is of course the best in the business. The controller is also the best one, but it's small D-pad screws it over on many games, especially fighters. The games don't take as long to load, but they do load more often, like in Resident Evil. It gets annoying. Also has the 2nd best graphics.
The Playstation 2 has the BEST audio, if you have surround sound and use the digital optical cable, which the other systems left out. 9This is the ONE reason I use my PS2 to play DVDs, rather than the XBOX. The XBOX has a better DVD player, with more speeds, etc, but the audio suffers.) It has the second best remote, and some of the best exclusive games around. (Final Fantasy X, to name one.) The system also has the largest game library out there. The PS2's fault is that it's graphics are not as great as the other systems. PS2 has the best controller for fighting games, as well.
So basically, decide what you want, and make your decision that way. If I were only buying a system for MK:DA, I'd go with the PS2, because of the controller. The game looks the same on every system (I played the game on every system, side-by-side, I don't know what the hell people think when they say one version or another looks better--it's not true.) however, the PS2 has a glitch on the opening sequence--if you have two remotes plugged in, it skips the opening FMV most of the time. Unplug the second controller to avoid this. The XBOX version has a glitch that happens when Frost in her default costume uses her special move at the same time as her opponent. Game freezes. the XBCX version also has another glitch, but i don't remember what it is. Gamecube's is basically bug-free, i supposse.
Hope that long winded crap helps out. _________________ Those were $500 sunglasses, asshole.

Incase you didn't know. The Nintendo GameCube is getting the Final Fantasy Cronicals...Also...just to name a few other great titles...Mario Sunshine, The Legend of Zelda, SSBM, Eternal Darkness, StarFox Adventures, Resident Evil, Dead to Rights, Medal of Honour, and the list can go on and on. And of course the Playstation 2 has way more games...it's been out for 2 years longer then GameCube. And maybe you should check your sources a little better. The GameCubes soundcard is far superior to that of the PS2.

Nintendo wins, Sony is allright, Xbox has got a horrible controller and loses.
Oh, and it DOESN'T MATTER how many games a console has. _________________

If you buy your first next-gen console, I'd go for PS2 - widest selection of games in all genres, (plays DVD's in case you need it), good controller and bright future, it is the safest option.
Apart from PS2 I own X-Box and currently only have 3 games for it. But, to me, the controller is quite allright and, some spectacular games (Fable, Halo 2, Project Gotham Racing 2 (if it comes out nice), maybe Splinter Cell 2 and some others) AND also, there are great chances that multiplatform games will end up being best on X-Box. X-Box is the "newbie" ... take a look at PS2
- GTA 3
- GT3
- FFX
- MGS 2
They all are sequels of games that in their times had to establish themselves. Microsoft is just standing on foot, it has nice future, I'd say (and it also plays DVD's, even better than PS2). Speaking of quality, X-Box is the most powerful and flexible by far.
As for GameCube, I never liked Nintendo, so my opinion doesn't really count. But, I have played it. To me the ONLY worthy games on GC are the Resident Evil series. The controller sucks for me 100 times worse than the X-Box's. It can't play DVD's.
I you go to GameSpot's system advisors (which aren't very deep, but still), the positive points of GameCube are very vague: compact, cheaper than the other two and has some exclusive games (Mario, Zelda, ...).
Final ranking on buying order (personal)
1. PS2
2. X-Box
3. GC
Happy New Year!

Incase you didn't know...Nintendo GameCube doesn't play DVD's or CD's because it is strictly a "Video Game System" The PS2 and X-Box are referred as "Entertainment Systems" As for games...You tell me one person that owns over 200 games in their librairy...Sony may have way more games...but lets face it...Most of them really SUCK! thus bringing me to Nintendo...They do have fewer...but hey...they are of better quality and they last a lot longer. BTW did you know that the Final Fantasy Chronicals are going to the Nintendo GameCube, as well as Splinter Cell2, GTA, and the list goes on. If you don't believe me, goto Nintendos official website "Nintendo.com" and they have a list of all the games coming out for the gamecube in 2003. As for the controller...most companies including videogame magazines think that controller is perfect. Gripping your hands needs. Just cause it sucks for MKDA doesn't mean anything.

Im pretty sure GTA isnt coming out on GC. Anyways Dead to Rights is GTA without the cars, almost anyways. And I find no problem with the GC controller and MKDA...
And ps2 and along with ps have the largest library, but if you notice they rush alot of crappy games out... _________________

You're new and obviously must not know about the off-topic discussion area of this board. If it doesn't relate to MK:DA, then you should post the thread in the "Off-topic" area of the alliance board.
Anyhow, all of you that has complained about the X-Box controller must have baby hands or something. That controller is perfectly fine with me and I've had no problem with any button combinations on any game. I hear these complaints everywhere and I don't understand them. Amatuer game players usually have the biggest problem with the X-Box controller and of course those with tiny hands. _________________ I'm back once again......I'm in need of a new avatar......Anyone that may want to help send a PM

w3rd...
I have an Xbox and I dont know what is the deal with everyone hating the controllers. I'll admit the standard controller is a monstrosity but the S-Controller is fine.Maybe not as good as GC but definately better than PS2.

I dont have X-box but im getting it in March because of these reasons. Xbox is better to own because of the graphics and there games barley need controler packs. They have cool games like Halo, Splinter Cell, Tao Feng(GREAT UPCOMING GAME LIKE MK5 MADE BY SOME MEMBERS, ONLY ON X-BOX), Halo 2, DOA: XTREME VOLLYBALL, Fable(GREAT RPG), I can go on and on all these games are good and have great graphics espeacially DOA:XV. X-box is best consle to own. Visit www.xbox.com for more info. _________________ The Ultimate Mortal Kombat warrior.

Wow-wow, don't get out of line with those "almost all PS2 games suck" statement. It is true, MANY suck, but let us view it in a different way, not in relative, but in absolute numbers. That is, if out of 1000 games, 900 suck, it is relatively bad, but 100 excellent games is quite enough, don't you think? (it is similar to PC situation).
You won't be getting GTA, nor GT on any system other than PS2. And those are unique (these are just bright examples, there are plenty of others). Tell me, what is so unique to GC? Resident Evil maybe ... but I can live without it. As for FF, you still won't be geting as much of it as you do on PS2. Face it, game selection on GC is rather poor compared to the one on PS2 and even X-Box.
I don't care whether GC is a "gaming" or "entertainment" system. It is the least flexible of the three. Period.
As for the controller: PS2's is just great, no further comments. X-Box's standard is also great for me, I love it, haven't tried the S yet.
You can buy what you want, but I guess you will fall into the category of people bitching about how overrated GTA is sooner or later, not being able to buy it.
My order of preference is still intact: PS2, X-Box, GC ...

I like PS2 way better than Xbox. I don't really care about the graphics, the game has to be fun and that's it. Fuck those guys that buy their consoles because of the "many games that are available" or the "best graphics you`ve ever seen"...a game has to be fun. I don't give a shit about the graphics. _________________
