I'm not into Mario. And there analog games for most other GC games. There is no real reason for buying GC.
You're doing an evil thing advising new gamers to buy a GC - if they had a chance to compare, I'm almost certain what their decision would be.
I like X-Box, it doesn't have an astonishing games line-up today like Sony does, but it sure will tomorrow.
Anyways, it is your money, your taste and your way of life. Be happy and be ready to suffer from time to time from the lack of flexibility. I might my a GC as a THIRD console - but as the first one, it is foolish, IMO ...

I care about Graphics, but all 3 Systems perform well in this category. We are FAR from the 16-bit competition between Sega and Nintendo.
This is how I see it:
If you have lots of money on you, love online games, and spicy graphics get XBox.
If you have a PS1, or always wanted to play a PS1 game, but wanted a next-generation console, get the PS2. Plenty of Games, backwards compatibility.
If you loved all your Nintendo systems like me, and were never dissapointed with Nintendo, you would love the GC. It's got a good lineup, Graphics that can hold it's own against Xbox and PS2, and 1st-party titles that no other game company can match.
All systems have it's benefits and it's set backs. Choose the one that best fits your liking. I chose Nintendo, live with it.

Hey man, don't get offended. You like your GC, it's fine with me, you may like other type of games that are produced more for GC than for any other consoles.
I liked PS2 for "MUST-HAVE" titles such as FFX, MGS2, GT3, GTA3, DMC and many other (I got both Onimusha, Silent Hill 2 and some other). You see, these games are all PS2-exclusive (Onimusha and Silent Hill2 do have counterparts on X-Box ... nothing on GC as far as I know ...).
I liked X-Box, because I wanted some games and I wanted the best version of multiplatform games. Everyone trashes X-Box, but don't forget that it is it's first year and it doesn't have the "MUST-HAVE" titles (maybe a couple) at this time, but it sure will.
And GC ... I would only buy RE for it ... (maybe some other separate titles), but I couldn't think of a list of the games to buy.
So, it's the matter of tastes. I insist that PS2 is the best for beginners for its widest range in games, it has everything.

Well none is better than the other. But Nitendo still to kidie. Xbox is good gret. After all it's from a copany that makes computers and game cosole are computers just made to play games, But Bill Gates is evil. j/k about that last part hes not really evil people just say that. Sony has more varity. I'm sticking with Sony. But i'm not saying the others are bad.

X-Box games are just as fun as the next system. It's funny that people even compare the X-Box to the PS2 for the simple fact that the X-Box has PS2 beaten in every aspect. The only ONE thing I can give PS2 is the fact that it has more games. But guess what, it's been out a year longer. Along with that, when the Microsoft team released their console they specifically said that they'll be picky about who they let make games for them hince decreasing "crappy" games like the PS2 has. Now of course they'll still have some bad games, but not as nearly as many as PS2. Nintendo 64 and PS One was to compare, but not X-Box and PS2. If you wanna compare two systems, compare the GC to the PS2. Leave X-Box out of it, it's technically and altogether a way better system.

I'd have to correct you and put X-Box even higher.  PS2 hasn't been around for 1 year only more than X-Box. I'd say that some 6 years is more like it. Because if you look at PS2 "MUST-HAVE" titles, they all are sequels to the games released on PSX. I'm not saying it is bad, I'm saying that it is impossible for Microsoft to make a dozen of games in one year that will become all-time favourites, they will - in a few years.
I love my PS2 a lot, but I also am aware of who's got the power. Sony is using the long-ago earnt respect and establishment in the industry producing some excellent games. X-Box has to break its way through with its power. Sony needs not to prove anything, X-Box - does. That's why PS2 outsells everyone else ...

the sound card may be superior, but without a digital optical cable, it doesn't sound as crisp on a surround sound system, and that's fact. It's a damn console, dude. I like the gcn, too, but there's no damn reason to insult someone just because they don't kiss a console's ass. all of you should remember that. These companies want your money, they are all after it. Blinding placing your trust in one company is foolishness. (btw, I DO like the GCN, I wasn't dogging it. The fact is though, it's not the best at everything, get over it.)

I agree. I'm just trying to get my point across about the two even being compared. Sony earned it's respect years ago and gaming fans are stuck with that. A lot conservative people don't like change and that's what I'm noticing with the X-Box. People's hands are big enough for the X-Box standard controller, they just complain because it feels different. X-Box on a comparison chart doubles or just completely destroys PS2 but yet people are stuck on Sony because of their earned respect and the fact that no one wants a change. Along with the fact that no one wants to put MORE money in Bill Gates pocket. Who cares? He's the richest guy in the world, because he always knows how to beat his competition and that's what he did on technical terms with the X-Box. So in other words, he's earned his money. He started with nothing and now he has everything at his disposal.

I have respect for Bill Gates, you all should, but instead you're trashing him like he was the worst thing on earth.
PS2 is a G R E A T system and has plenty of games, but that doesn't make it unique and unbeatable. X-Box is a very worthy piece of machinery and the games for X-Box are of the same and in many occasions of higher quality as PS2 games. ANY hit that is available for PS2 would be better on X-Box had it been developed exclusively for it.

Sorry i guess i started the thing on Bill Gates. Theres nothing wrong with him just a lot of people tend to hate. Their probly just jealous cause hes so sucsesfull and rich. And there is no beter among the three consoles. Some people just like one more than the other.
