Main money maker you say? - Well, Midway is slowly but surely dying. And MK won't save them. It's a closed circle - they do not have resources to make the game perfect, so when it comes out, it doesn't get them enough profits to go on.
Well, look at GTAIII and GT3, Sony is quite happy for those games being PS2-exclusive. They could earn 3 times as much if they weren't, but that's not the goal. In the end, the winner is the one who has all the best to himself ONLY - console exclusive games.
Another strategy could be: make MK an X-Box exclusive and develop the game for X-Box. Sell it. Then, several months later, tone down the graphics and everything and sell it the other two consoles. Look at Splinter Cell.
If Midway is not bought by anyone, you won't see another MK game in your life, so think harder ...

X-Box sould be happy w/ buying Rare and making a gr8 fighter out of Killer Instinct, also don't they have DOA as an exclusive? Sony has VF and Tekken... Nintendo needs a fighter for themselfs; I say Nintendo should buy the MK title as a console exclusive and sould also buy Bloody Roar just put the keyword BLOOD back in the game... thats just my 2 cents. _________________ I throw my two cents in when its needed...

Mk has always been an Arcade to "all" console games. There are few reasons why MK will NOT be an exclusive to XBox. Firstly...Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance sales were surprisingly highest on the GameCube, then Came the PS2 and then "XBox and GBA". If the game was only to be released on the XBox MK would surely NOT meet another million mark in history. They would be loosing out on a lot of money. And microsoft is all about money...right? And I don't think everyone without an XBox will be willing to go out and buy an XBox just for Mortal Kombat. Don't get me wrong...I love Mortal Kombat since 1992. But when you think of it. Who wants to shell out $300 for a system then $80 for a game just to play THAT game. When it'll loose it's replay in a couple of months.

Right, and as for the person who said that the gameplay could be better if it was Xbox exclusive. That can be true if the game was exclusive to ANY system!
The only gameplay advantage I can see is if it had online play, because Xbox has alreadly started their online support, but then again, Nintendo and Sony are rolling out theres as well.
I just don't want to dish out 300 dollars for a system that gives me a DVD player (which I already have) and CD player (which I have 5 of) and a Game system which I already have.
Granted Microsoft probably could save Midway, and Midway would benefit, but fans of their games (which spans all 3 consoles) would not.
Making it a 2nd-party company would be more beneficial to all gamers in which they could make a game for the XBox exclusively, and then afterwards in a few months, bring it out on other consoles. My only worry about this is that the rush to bring it out on other consoles could sacrifice quality. (Which has happenned in the past).

Well, I don't think that a PS2 exclusive version of MK would be the same as an X-Box exclusive version of it, it would be weaker, because PS2 is weaker. Same with GC.
The idea of making the game on all three consoles, but make the development separate, not sacrifising the abilities of the consoles, would be the best: everyone gets the game, the game is OPTIMIZED for the particular console, Microsoft gets lots of money to go on making such games, everybody is happy. The question is, will they do that?
You don't buy a console to play one game only on it. But don't be ignorant, many superb games will only see light on X-Box.

MK will stay multiplatform because mainly it makes more money that way. And i think it's not fair to deprive fans of other systems the plesure of the fighting, gore fest that is MK would be unfair. And X-Box is not more powerfull than PS2. Although i must say that soon i think Mirosoft and Sony will be the only two in the game. Cause Nintendo seems to be in trouble of late and their way behind. _________________

X-Box is more powerful than PS2. I have both, so the opinion is not biased. X-Box has more advanced hardware.

More avanced hardware dosen't necisarly mean it's more powerfull but it could i gues. Afterall it is from a company that makes computers and game consoles are computer just more specfied for playing games. Anyway PS2 and X-Box arnt that diffrent they have the same abillitys and most of the same games. _________________

Graphics dont make a good game anyways...I find my NES and SNES more enjoyable than my GC at times. Where else can you play MK, MK2, and MK3... _________________

I'd like to understand why everyone thinks the GC will disappear. Nintendo is in 2nd place with the GC...obvisouly PS2 is in 1st...But the X-box is sadly "note the sarcasm" last. GameCube has great games. And The X-box might be more powerful of the 3. But it isn't that much more powerful then the GameCube. I have all 3 and I'd pick my GameCube over the X-Box and the PS2 over the X-Box.

More like PS2, X-Box and then GC ... GC has a huge support from little kids, but their tastes differ massively from grown-up gamers ... If GC stops making games for kids, it will sink.
