MKA wasnt a patch on the first film,too many characters crammed into the film but its definately better than street fighter IMO.i dont know if its because street fighter was a 12 certificate or because most of the main cast couldn't fight but if you noticed whenever there was gonna be a fight it got interrupted. so there was hardly any actual fighting until the last 20 mins of the film.pretty lame for a movie called 'Street fighter' dont you think!

The biggest disappointment was that they kicked out Ryu to give frontline to Guile, who did not do too bad but it really blown up SF fans.

Yeah,maybe they just couldnt find someone good enough to play ryu as the lead in the movie,or more likely capcom of america wanted an american character to take the lead.i like van damme and i think he did the best he could with that film tho he was a strange choice as a U.S colonel with that accent!As bad as some of the effects were in MKA im glad us MK fans didnt have to suffer thru scenes as bad as any featuring blanka!(my god that sucked ass!!!)

NEWBIE ALERT!!
*grins evilly while working on a Scorpion drawing to color in photoshop (You´ll see it once it´s done btw)*
They were both rather bad, honestly. Mortal Kombat had bad acting and script - they didn´t stick to the true storyline...and Sheeva, though my one of my fav game characters, was horrible! But Ray Park was in it - one of the very few bonuses! (sorry, I´m a hardcore Darth Maul fan!) In Street Figher, Van Damme is a good martial artist, but it wasn´t a good role for him. Raul Julia was an excellent actor and played a very convincing Bison, but it wasn´t his role either. He kinda came off a little...cheesy.
I love MK (played all arcade and playstation versions, have all the movie soundtracks plus movie poster for MK1) and I like playing Street Fighter...but the movies... They were ok, but I wouldn´t want to watch them too often...except MK for MK sake.
Syndel was my alltime fav in the games, but she´s a wuss in the movie! She was supposed to be the key to Earth but in the movie it was Kitana.
They both could have been much better; they were lacking... including Christopher Lambert from MK1 - he fit in as Rayden to a T!!
Wierd.

The MK2 movie and the SF movie both sucked, but I can still watch the MK2 movie with out dieing. So MK2 is alot better.
