I thought it was decent. Not the best but still good.

I think it was more along the lines of a dissapointment because they relied on dial up combos instead of allowing us to make our own. The run button was almost useless, they took away all the really good characters (scorpion, Johnny Cage) and any of the new guys were just ninja clones or lame. The only really good ones were Kabal and Sindel. Stryker was okay, although there is nothing special about him.

so all in all, alot of us liked it, but it wasn't as good as MK2 was.

Well, Cage wasn't in it, and neither was many of my other favorites. I'm not a hardcore Scorpion fan or anything, but I like to select him every now and then--and he wasn't there, either. Same with Raiden. That made me mad, of course, and so did Nightwolf..... heck, why didn't they just put Cage in...... he had basically the same moves...... whatever........ This wasn't my biggest dissappointment, however. I just didn't like the new characters, or the dial-up combos. It was kinda dumb. I still like the game. Hell, I own it. I prefer it to UMK3 (which most people would disagree with me on) due to the difficulty and un-neccesary add-ons. I think they should've skipped UMK3 and MKT and just made MK4, but whatever. (MKT is one of my favs, too, so....) It was the first game I actually liked Sub-Zero in (he's better w/o the mask, face it! Well, he looks like shit in MK:DA, but you know.) and I actually liked Sonya in this game. Liu Kang still kicked a lot of ass, especially with that bullshit combo of his that dealt a ridiculous amount of damage, but oh well. I liked it. But having to start a combo from the ground was dumb..... which, thankfully, UMK3 corrected........ but with the difficulty, it didn't really help. I never beat that game with any character besides Liu Kang. I just didn't care. Now, MK3, I beat with EVERYONE.

Anyways, I still play MK3 sometimes, in fact, more than MK or UMK3, but that's about it. It's fun.... but the other games were just MORE fun. ....and that's what it's all about.

(long winded, I know. Heck, it's 1:00 a.m. here, so give me a break if it doesn't make sense.)

I hate the combo system and the run button in MK3. The rest is OK, it has good fighters. I only hate to fight Nightwolf cause I always lose against him and his cheap fighting.

Yeah, the run button was useless, and I didn't like the combo system. There were some very cool new characters (Stryker, Kabal, Sheeva), but they were never accepted which is a shame. One reason for this probably cause we lost good ones in exchange (Johnny Cage, Kitana etc.).

I like mk3 it was the first mk i owned. some of the new characters were good i especially like the fact sub-zero was unmasked. the combo system was rubbish so i didn't use it and there was no point in the run button other than not having 2 block buttons

What I hate the most about MK3 are the crappy colors. But I kinda like it cuz my fav female character (Sindel) is in it.

The Cyborg saga made the game pretty good, storywise.

I know u all are not going to agree with me. But I really liked MK3. It's one of my favs. in fact.

Most of you complain about the famous "dial-up" combos... I wonder how you'd call combos for MK:DA then... it's almost the same, in my opinion, you've just have a bit more freedom, that's true, but doing 1, 1, B+2, 3, 3, etc. it's a dial-up combo aswell. Anyways , i don't complain about this. I LOVED the dial-up combo they made each character a bit different. And still you could make the combos on your own (sorry if any of you didn't have imagination for doing so...).

The run button was really cool. It was really useful for those combos. And added speed to the game (MKII seemed so slow in comparison).

I LOVED the characters, and the stages, and the story. They all looked so modern, the stages too, and they looked so apocalyptic and the story aswell, it was like a survival kombat in a abandoned and destroyed world. Vivid graphics. The soundtrack is one of the best for MK, I especially like the "select your fighter" and "choose your destiny" tracks, ah and "the street" of course. Soundtrack added alot of action to this game. The multi level stages were really cool and something unique in MK.

I really liked the characters, old and new, all. This game was really balanced between old and new. The cyborgs were a major improvement, amazing looks. Sheeva the first playable shokan was really cool. The deadly Sindel with a deadly scream. Sub-Zero had something interesting at last (unmasked, cool moves like the ice shower), for the first time Jax had bionic arms, Sonya looked really beautiful and sexy. And most important of all... No Scorpion!!! Headbang (sorry I don't like him).

This game really had a very good input in creativity. I'm really sorry most of the fans didn't appreciate it. But I did. And I really enjoyed MK3 on the arcades. For me, this game is among my favs in the MK franchise.

I have to agree with Leno on that one, I absolutely LOVED MK3.

Some of my best MK Experience was built on that game challenging all my friends in the arcade and at home. All my friends still dig MK3, and we have huge rivalries still over who was the best, although everyone knows its me. Rolling Eyes MK3 and KI 2 were the most busiest arcade machines out there. I think the characters that usually got the biggest cheers from onlookers at the arcade were Smoke, SubZero, Cyrax, and Motaro.

Leno is also right in the fact that you could make your own combos. I made one with Cyrax that had about 50% damage per combo. (Hint: it involved bombs, nets, and ass kicking). Frankly the combo kept going..even after I won. Wink

MK3 was awesome, MK Trilogy, for the N64 was good except for the fact that it could get god-awful slow when you had that meter at the bottom of your screen. It also blew because the MK3 Subzero wasnt in the game.

Best Characters in MK3:

    Subzero
    Cyrax
    Smoke
    Sektor
    Stryker
    Kabal
    Lui Kang
    Motaro

I never liked MK3 only because MK2 was so much better, the characters, the blood, the fatalities, bosses... everything. Plus not long after MK3 came out UMK3 was out, UMK3 was better even though I thought the game was a 'lil slow, but who cared w/ all thoughs characters and new ninjas noone knew who they were... Johnny Cage and Scorpion was back; IMO their was no need for MK3 Twisted Evil

The only reason I liked MKT was Baraka was back and so was H. Smoke

If only N64 had a sizeable cartridge to fit all the characters from MK Trilogy, it would have been a great game to own for the N64.

Unfortunately, I bought the PS version and ended up with a game that takes more time in loading then it does in actual combat. That really pissed me off. I mean for shits sake, it loaded not only the bar that scrolled up before a fight, but then it loaded the vs screen, and also loaded the freakin fatalities at times.

Note: Never, EVER do a Master Demonstration. Not only do they suck and sometimes sounds are missing...it loads during EVERY fatality, babality, friendship, and animality. It loads so damn much, it can take nearly 10 minutes just to watch the whole damn thing, half of which is loading time.

I think if MK3 never came out and UMK3 was called MK3 and had all the things in MK3 and UMK3. That way it would have totally kicked ass. I liked some of the levels in MK3 and was dissapointed to find that some weren't in UMK3. I loved Babeality, Friendship, Fatalities, and all those and was pissed not to see em in MK4 and 5. well, fatalities have always been there but the others were gone. Or, they coulda just waited and came out with MKT and called it MK3. Woulda been a LOT better and probably woulda made more money cuz the people who got outta MK when they saw how crappy MK3/UMK3 was woulda still loved the MK story.

I still liked MK3 sorta just because it's MK. It's like a misfit game though, there's a lot of MK that I prefer over it which makes me kinda neglect the game in total.
