I have been practicing with Raiden, against Li Mei in the Lost Tomb stage. And I have managed to knock Li Mei out of the barriers area. She ended up standing near the mummified soldiers.  I guess it's a bug, but a peculiar one, nonetheless. I even made a screenshot, but uploading it is a pain.
P.S. I have the PAL version ...
