I like MK1 a lot better than 2 and 3 because of the gameplay and the more realistic graphics. MK2 had cartoon-like graphics. And MK2 had terribly cheap opponents. Don't get me wrong, MK2 is a good game, but MK1 is better, I think. _________________

Mk1 and MK2 the only Mortal Kombat games where the sub-boss was actually difficult.
Once it got to MK3 with Motaro everything went pair shaped regarding sub bosses. They got easier.

I don't understand that. When I fought Motaro, I thought he has a very fair difficulity. Kintaro is cheap and overpowered. WAY too hard. _________________

Yeah, Kintaro was hard, maybe hardest of them all. But as the concept of the sub-boss he's perfect. Moloch also is hard/cheap but is not that good as sub-boss. I think Goro was easy and so was Motaro. The thing with Kintaro is that it was quite hard to be cheap with him ... only Sub-Zero and Kitana could be cheap with him.

Kintaro was the hardest of the first three. Followed by Goro. I found Motaro pretty easy.
As for Moloch. He's a freaking pushover compared to previous sub bosses.

Not quite so for me. Moloch is very cheap. If you fight him in a cheap way, then he might be not that hard, but otherwise he is quite hard. A normal fight is supposed to be balanced and when you are far away from the opponent and when you're close, you have the same chances for succesfully fighting and winning. Moloch however, once knocks you out and puts a distance, then makes it quite hard to remove this distance, you can hardly approach him as he goes on with his long range punch or with one of his specials.
I think a sub-boss must be like a normal character, only bigger and stronger, but it should not have any cheap abilities. Kintaro was hard, but you still could fight him if you were carefull and fast enough. Same for Goro. Moloch can simply make twenty of his punches and several of his specials (such as "aspiration", "rush" or "ground crash") and you won't be able to harm him at all, all you do is just keep blocking (which doesn't always work), as he won't allow you near him. the concept of the beast is not bad, but his moves, tactics and behavior suck big time.

One thing that I find amusing. When he tries to breathe you into him, if you're not blocking you go flying into him. Yet if you block you remain where you are.
So you're telling me that when he tries that special to send you flying towards him, putting your arm up(blocking) does a great deal of difference?

It's the same story with Sub Zero's freeze and Scorpions spear. _________________

Lol. Funny things.
Maybe all characters have special powers that reside in their arms.
