I just got mortal kombat trilogy, and was angry as hell that every time I try to do sub_zero's spine rip, the screen goes dark. Is this supposed to happen!?

Yes it is, in UMK3 they made it like that, it sucks (And it was passed onto MKT). His Second Fatality isnt censored.

Yes sadly it is but my main question is WHY? How come it was allowed before, and was released on MOST systems at the time with the same fatality intact. Though when UMK3, and MKT was released that really corny version of the fatality was put into those gamesss .

Midway actually made the Fatality like that as a joke because of the controversery it caused back when MK1 was out, it wasn' t because they couldn't show it. They did it as a joke.

It's amazing how many people get so mad about this. There are so many other fatalities in the game(s).

The Real Answer is:
Midway didn't want to make "get-head-ripped-off" sprites for all the other characters. _________________

There are "drop down on the knees and then fall over" sprites for the MK3 characters?
You know, like these?

Regards, |
Sub's Fatality in UMK3 was censored???
I didn't know about that...
I always thought that it is conceived to be so.
I thought that Sub just pricks out the opponent's eyes and the screen goes dark.
Why?- the answer is:
There was not enough of place in SEGA's cartridge to make all the stuff,
and they were compelled to сut down Sheeva, animalities etc.
Noob and Rain didn't have fatalities at all! So we have to say "thanks"
even for that poor "dark screened" Sub's fatality,
cause he could have no fatalities at all!
Am I wrong?
Another question is "why they passed it onto MKT"?
I don't know... but it isn't important, because there are too many things that could be much better than they are in MKT... _________________ best regards,

Incase you didn't notice, each and every decapitation/degording fatality in MK3, UMK3, and MKT, leaves the body standing, ergo, if a fatality is remade it holds the properties of the game it's in, so the body would just stay there, and the removed head would be in Sub-zero's hand, and all they would have had to do was paste on the spine from MK1, no redrawing necessary. If you want knee dropping animation, you're asking for too much. It wouldn't have taken much to have them make the body fall on their face in reverse beaten animation, without a head either, and most of their programming is done real time.

Even in such case,-
Midway had to draw every "body staying there without a head" sprites for every UMK3 character, but there wasn't enough of memory for that. _________________ best regards,

I'm not joking here or anything, I don't understand what you're getting at. I showed you a very rough interpretation of what I said they could have done and it would have looked in the UMK3 style. This draw every body standing without a head thing doesn't make any sense, they didn't draw anything first off, and all they did was remove the head and stick the little blood seperation on the neck and physically move the head. If you notice on a lot of characters whose bodies are cut in half, their hands are still there below their waist. This is not a difficult thing for them to do, it's just matter of laziness. And where does the "not enough memory" thing come into play. What? meant explain what you meant, in terms of everything.
