***EDITED. All the avi files have been replaced with compresses rar files, as uncompressed avi files were taking up too much space.***
I have not posted here in God knows how long (my original post is somewhere), but DS did a kick-ass job of remodeling the place. Anyway, I'm not fully aware of the rules about here, so if asking MAME questions or about any emulator is against the rules here, don't do it. These videos are only for showing off.
Simply experimenting with some video recording programs, I've created some videos of certain MAME and SNES games (emulated of course). The vids were taken with a program called HyperCam, which I learned about from a guy named ]<0MBAT. Overall these vids turned out pretty well, save for some sound and video problems in a few. I'm showing these off to anyone interested in them.
You will need WinRAR to extract the videos from the compressed archives. The avi files can be played in both Windows Media Player or Real Player, as long as you have the DivX codec.

IMPORTANT!!! -- LEFT-CLICK .rar files to save, RIGHT-CLICK .avi files to save. If you try to right-click a .rar file, you'll get an error from lycos.
Sorry, my host doesn't allow direct linking of vids and compressed files. Some notes on these vids:
ZSNES videos:
Mortal Kombat II (beta)
The beta version of MKII for SNES is incomplete, and also has the ability for anyone to do a fatality at any time in the match. These are some videos showing that glitch off. Thanks to Jason Shearer (PuPz) for making me aware of this beta. These videos go all the way until the timer reaches 00, so if you don't want to sit through the still characters, you can just skip to the end.
MK2_beta.rar (2.88 MB) [contains MK2_beta.avi (3.50 MB)] - Baraka vs Kitana. Shows the error in Baraka's placement in the game, as when he stands he's high up in the air floating. Also shows a fatality in mid round.
MK2_beta_raiden-kitana1.rar (1.91 MB) [contains MK2_beta_raiden-kitana1.avi (2,553 KB)] - Raiden vs Kitana. In the Kombat Tomb, shows a special glitch you can pull off if your opponent attempts a pit fatality in mid round, and misses.
MK2_beta_raiden-kitana2.rar (2.58 MB) [contains MK2_beta_raiden-kitana2.avi (3,301 KB)] - Raiden vs Kitana. A nice way to show that Raiden's uppercut fatality can't be avoided. Also note the lifebars when the move is pulled off.
MK2_beta_subzero-jax.rar (1.89 MB) [containts MK2_beta_subzero-jax.avi (3,226 KB)] - Sub-Zero vs Jax. Pit II. Need I say more? Skip to near the end of the video (1 minute, 9 seconds), to see the background effect glitch of this vid.
Mortal Kombat II (v 1.1)
kintaro-glitch_DivX.rar (4.16 MB) [contains kintaro-glitch_DivX.avi (5.17 MB)] - Sub-Zero vs Kintaro. This is the DivX version of a video made by a guy named ShingoEX, and which ]<0MBAT submitted the info to MKShin. This video shows how you can make Kintaro do some wierd stuff real easily.
MAME vids
Gradius II - Gofer no Yabou (Gofer's Ambition)
gradius2_DivX.rar (7,314 KB)[contains gradius2_DivX.avi (9.21 MB)] - Title screen, weapon select, and first level of Gradius II. Only problems here are that the sound and music tend to cackle and skip a bit, but it's not too bad. I did use an invincibility cheat on this one, as you can see me clearly get hit near the end of the vid, which would have killed me instantly if I didn't cheat.
Gradius III
gradius3_MAME_DivX.rar (8,226 KB)[contains gradius2_MAME_DivX.avi (9.60 MB)] - Title screen, weapon select, and first level of Gradius III. The sound is out of sync at the first few seconds of the video, as you can see the Credit count change, but the sound effect is lagged. The sound is fine the rest of the video. Again, the sound cackles and skips in some places, and the video skips frames more near the end. Gradius III is considered to be one of the most difficult games Konami ever made, and this vid shows off my elite dodging skills. Seriously no cheats were used, as you cannot use the power bar fully if you use cheats.
Street Fighter II Champion Edition (Red Wave hack)
Red Wave was one of three hacked versions of the arcade version of Street Fighter II Champion Edition. These hacks allowed players to do air special moves, as well as faster moves (fierce projectiles moved at super speed while quick projectiles moved at the pace of a turtle). You could even do more than one special move in the air (i.e. you could do Ryu's fierce fireball in the air, then do his dragon punch before he came back down to the ground.) Ryu's quick dragon punch in this hack also makes him move forward about half the screen. These hacks were the reason why Capcom released an official version, SF2 Turbo.
SF2_hack_DivX.rar (5.50 MB) [contains SF2_hack_Divx.avi (5.93 MB)] - Ryu vs Guile. No sound. As I was still trying to fix problems with recording sound from this game, I decided to do one without sound. This shows off the air moves. The CPU doesn't do any of the air moves, as they probably weren't hacked to recognize they could do them.
SF2_hack_DivX_sound.rar (4.01 MB) [contains SF2_hack_DivX_sound.avi (4.65 MB)] - Ryu vs Chun Li. This one has sound, as I fixed and took care of the sound issues. Also shows off the air moves. Unfortunately, the video quality slightly degrades as the video progresses. Sorry about that.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -- Turtles in Time
Although the SNES version was TMNT 4, the arcade version did not designate a number (the NES TMNT 2 was the first arcade TMNT game) The arcade version also had an intro scene that the SNES version didn't have, complete with a theme song, which is what this video is of. The theme song is "Pizza Power", which is off the TMNT Coming Out of Their Shells soundtrack. This is also the only vid I have 2 of, one being a compressed DivX vid that's smaller in filesize (for dial-up users), and the original 9MB avi file, both of which are available.
TMNT_Turtles_in_Time_intro.rar (2,880 KB)[contains TMNT_Turtles_in_Time_intro.avi (9,748 KB)]- The rar file is just under 3 MB, but the file inside is just over 9MB when extracted (the miracles of WinRAR). This video has no issues, except right at the beginning. When the turtles yell "PIZZA POWER", that effect is heavily static. This was a problem because of the sound as the game was playing, that sound effect is pretty loud, so it recorded loud. Probably very little I can do about that. The sound in the rest of the video is fine. Also, just before the title screen appears, you'll see a split-second frame of Raphael in a manhole (you'll see the same scene in the intro, this frame is just a repeat).
TMNT_Turtles_in_Time_intro_DivX.rar (2.95 MB) [contains TMNT_Turtles_in_Time_intro_Divx.avi (3,582 KB)] - Compressed DivX video. The exact same as the original, except the video looks like .jpg as it is compressed.
OTHER videos
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
CyraxGlitch_DivX.rar (1.91 MB) [contains CyraxGlitch_DivX.avi (2.07 MB)] - Cyrax vs Li Mei. This is one I took a while ago. Jonin01 submitted a glitch to MK Shin about this. It's during Cyrax's fatality, using a well-timed bomb just before the action. The quality of this video is not that good, because I used my PC camera to record from the TV, and then used Hypercam to record it into an avi. The PC camera caused the less-than-descent quality. Nevertheless, you should be able to tell what's going on. _________________ Staff Member - MK Shin - The MK Glitch Archive

Could you tell me how to record sound properly in Hypercam, and also how to encode them in DivX?
Thanks _________________

First thing's first, does hypercam record sound at all when you tell it to? If not, you need to go into the Master Volume Control, go to Options > Properties, select "Recording" under "Adjust Volume For", select "Stereo Mix", and select it at the next window. It is very important that you do not use full volume on the Stero Mix volume bar, as it can cause a lot of static. Also the same for "Master Volume" and "PC speaker" on the main window. I can't exactly tell you how to get there if you're not running Win XP. If you're using something other than XP, someone else is gonna have to tell you how to get to Volume Control.
To encode in DivX, go to http://www.winmpg.com/ and get the WinMPG program. Because it's the freeware version, you cannot convert more than 5 minutes of a movie. When you're at the main menu, choose "All to DivX". Select a video to convert, and give a name for the converted file. When you're asked to select audio and video codecs, leave the selections at default (DivX 5.0 codec and MPEG layer 3). That will convert the video. _________________ Staff Member - MK Shin - The MK Glitch Archive
