After Deadly Alliance, I doubt they'd leave Shang Tsung and Quan Chi out of the game. You can bet that the basically dead characters like Stryker, Nightwolf, Sindel, Rain, or Ermac will not return.

not necessarily. quan chi stole the amulet from shinnok, but liu kang won the mk4 or gold tournament

Ok this is what I think.... Hsu Hao dies at the hands of Jax... Kano dies at the hands of Mavado... Shang Tsung dies at the hands of Kung Lao and so he avenged the death of his partner Liu Kang... But before that, Li Mei died at the hands of both Quan Chi and Shang Tsung, so we hopefully will never know about her in the future... Kenshi almost dies at the hands of Mavado but he actually was severely injured and Sonya rescued him, so no, he's not dead...
I think we'll have more of Nitara or some other vampires since her story seems to be unfinished... But as ppl say... it may stay that way, not to be mentioned again...
