Post subject: Why does Smoke have smoke clouds around him? |

Why is Smoke smoking? Is is the way he's designed or is it some kind of ability that he had when he was still human?

Thats why his name is smoke...because his body emits smoke! Actually its both, he was designed to smoke...and its his natural ability!

I believe that it is a trained natural ability. Smoke is able to smoke and sub-zero is able to freeze stuff.
They each had to train and study. Sub-Zero is a less deceptive ninja, and more of a ninja warrior. Smoke is a diversionary ninja, he mostly gathers information. I always believed that smoke emitted the smoke at different intervals and toxicities. If he needed to get in somewhere, he could make a rolling fog if he concentrated. Giving him a cover to use. If he got caught and trapped he could use the surrounding eviroment to create poisonous gas that would let him escape. It is quite a useful ability if you see it from my perspective.
Reality is, the animators decided to make him smoke all the time. But for background and storyline, talk to Tobias.
