when the first mk was released i was only 1 but by the time the 3rd one came out, i lovedd playing it because of the blood, fataliys, and the awsome fighting. what are your reasons.

When I got y first computer (486) and learn how to use it a little, then i soon got a new game called MK!  i loved it , fighting, fatalities, then i used to go visit my friend to play MK3 on sega, i watched the movies and up to now im a great fan of it

Bacause of the violence....simple. No other game was so violent and had that great graphics.

The fisrt game I saw was Mortal Kombat 2 and the first guy i saw was Reptile... in mentioning... at the first time I saw it, I saw this guy do Reptile's Fatality. The head eat. I was about 8 or 9 at the time but I was blown away by this. A few years later I had my very own copy and then i moved on to playing the rest of the MKs.
I see your guys arguement and here's what came out first.
MK, MK2, MK3, UMK3, MKT, MKSP, MKM, MK4, MKGold, MKDA, and MKTE.
This is the order the games came out.^
But what really goes into the story is
MKM, MKSP, MK, MKT, MKG, MKDA...
That is the story order of it.^

You can't say MK got popular because of the blood & gore. There are games that go way beyond. The only one I can think of is Eternal Champions. Ed Boon even said it in one of the MK:DA vidoes that it wasn't becuase of the gore but the cool things you could do.
