My MK1-The Pit for UnrealTournament is up for download from my site- its "late beta" status -so let me know if you have any suggestions or bug reports- later

UPDATE
MK-PIT(and its texture and sound files) AND MK-PRISON MAPS updates online now: http://www.hishost.net/issa/mkut-uk-d.html
I added flying silhouettes after 60sec of play and brightened ends a bit (and other bsp/bug fixin)
UPDATE AGAIN- at the bottom of the page Ive got info and screens on UT2k3 version of Pit map....

UPDATE AGAIN:
added more ammo pickups at bottom of the pit- new map revision now online http://www.hishost.com/peter/dm-mk1-the_pit.zip

ps- I DO plan to make a CTF revision of the map.

And I dont know whats up with MK bloodlust- I dont have access to the website to fix it and the head person- bio2003, lost interest as far as I can tell. bastard Smile
Pretty funny when someone starts something and gives up on it first when it was his idea to start with...

hint:
To jump out of the pit, use jumpboots to jump to the torches in the corners then jump again out of the pit. Watch out for the pedestal bottoms or you'll bump yer head ...

UPDATE: UT2003 version coming along nicely-
With new high poly static meshes, some better textures( even skeletons with swords on the bottom - now if I can model some new Boon and Tobias heads Smile )...and boy is Karma physics on dead bodies flying around The Pit fun! Smile

mmmmmm..... high poly deliciousness....HEY- are those cracks on the end walls? WHY YES, they ARE! Smile- gotta love ut2k3 projectors.
No clouds, floor spikes, flying silhouettes, or piked heads yet in 2k3 version.- will be coming and hoping for a release in the next week...
ps- cant wait to try my UT2k3 maps with some melee hand-to-hand weapon fighting with the new chaosUT2 mod coming out soon...

The one for the UT: GOTY works a bit slow. Even with 3 or 5 bots. I can have all 16 bots on the other levels just dandy and no slowdown occurs, now, why just this stage is has slowdown?

probably because of all the pit spikes on pillars and floor and being a single large open area with lots of objects and geometry in view all the time... because of this my map eats up slower PCs...

I assume your pc isnt very fast?
probably under 1ghz, less than 256 ram, 8 or 16meg video card?
anyway- sorry the map runs like ass but theres no way to optimize it - and it wouldnt be "the pit" if I had to remove all the blades Smile ...
The original UT wasnt designed to handle large open view areas. (one of the reasons I have switched to ut2003.)

the pit works fine on my GOTY edition, and might I say peterbi, I love it, it is so good, I love the moon silhoetes (or however thats spelled) and the sounds if you fall of the sides, This and your other maps rock, I can't wait to upgrade my comp so I can run 2K3 and get your maps for that, keep up the good work
