Jedi is right. And if you watched closely on the deception opening movie, Quan Chi was doing most of the work but Shang was gettin his @$$ kikked. Then Quan Chi kicked Shang's ass after that. If Raiden were fighting 2 Shangs(maybe a clone or something), Raiden would probably win. So Quan really turned the tables.

I voted Shang because the idea of absorbing souls for power is cool. Though Quan is strong, Shang could just morph and finish him easy.

I voted Shang, simple reason is that I cant stand the whole "Quan Chi-shinnok amulet" story, it just put me off him all together

yeah. quan chi. why? cos he won against shang tsung.
dont get me wrong, i like originality but shang was best as an old chinese style warrior of mk1. he sucked in mk3, ok in mk2 and da.
if you are reading this, put in mkd now and watch the intro. you will notice that as the camera pans in quan and shang get a quick hit in on raiden. this is pretty much the only hit he gets in. shang runs at raiden, who teleports and shocks him. then shang runs at him, andd he does a double kick. shang falls down whilst quan keeps balance. he then blocks shangs fire and takes the time to prepare some eletricty whilst shan g does nothing. having fought against quan some more, raiden proceeds to shock shang whilst still on the floor.
raiden owns shang throughout the whole thing. its really just quan vs. raiden at this point. then,. after quan attacks raiden (leaving him vulnerable) shang, using a soul, attcks raiden. (if they were in a different arena, then he'd be screwed). then, again with quans help, he snakes his a$$.
thats it! two and a half hits, if that.
quan chi knows what he's doing, shang has no idea what to do. he just gets beat up by raiden and then quan chi.
my point: not only does it show, that quan is better at fighting others than shang, but quan chi defeats shang tsung. regardless of whether you like shang more, or hate quans storyline, it remains a fact. quan beat him, so in a fight between quan and shang, quan would win.
in short: quan chi

Does SHang Tsung still have his morphing powers? He hasnt used them in a long time.

You took the words right out of my mouth, Jedi. Although Shang Tsung has the ambition to become the supreme ruler of Outworld, it was Quan Chi who weakened every opponent that Shang Tsung killed. It was done, like you said, with Raiden, and Liu Kang, I'll bet that it was also Quan Chi who weakened Shao Kahn for Shang Tsung to steal his soul.
He has you all with this. Shang Tsung's power became only because of Quan Chi. Besides wasn't he the one who controlled the Undefeatable Army of the Dragon King, future name of Onaga?

 Though Shang Tsung is the bomb in Mk 1,2, DA, His appearence totally sucked in MK3. Still, I voted Shang, 'Cause, Hey, gotta love the classics.

I wish Shang would be the more powerful sorcerer. But it seems Quan mostly channeled for Power and Shang channeled for conjuring, illusions, necromancy, etc.

I vote Quan Chi. He is most evil in my opinion and looks the best. I mean he had the control in the MKD intro.
