Well you can beat SF 2:CE with 3 movies with Ryu / Ken. Fireball / Spin Kick and Dragon Uppercut.
Alot of people argue that MK can be beaten by just using fly kicks. This isnt true, You can beat most or if your lucky sometimes all fighters in MK1 with fly kicks. But alot of the time, backed into a corner...that will not help you at all, and you will get owned. So you need to know all the basic moves to get out of such a pickle. in SF2:CE not the case, by repeating the 3 moves above you can get out of any situation.
Thus I think that MK has a higher skill factor.
As for fast pace...dont forget MK2.

With three moves?
If, you are playing UNDER level 4, yea. I agree with you.
If you are playing OVER level 4, kiss your thesis goodbye. The CPU will jump over the Fireballs, block the Dragon Punch and 0wn3rz y00.
I always thought if you're playing Street Fighter on a hard level, you had to stick to the real powerful characters, such as Guile, Dhalsim and Chun-Li.

Fly kicks, sweeps and rapid punching. Yoink! Three moves again!
OK, although this only counts for MK1. But what you said about Ryu/Ken an their moves only counts for the SFII series either. Not the Alpha, and not the 3 series. But i do agree with you that MK is harder. Then again, that's only because of the cheaper AI.
I'm not bashing Mortal Kombat here, I obviously LOVE it. But I also like Street Fighter, and I have to tell people that it's not a bad game. _________________

Oh, the Flash Kick. I see.
It's cool not only that it was unblockable in the first versions, but that it has THREE NAMES as well. _________________

I think SF2 was a good game all the way up to Street Fighter 2 Alpha, then it started to insult my intelligence. It's too childish and cartooney now. I always liked killer instinct, it crossed all the good points of MK and SF2 into one, at the time of the MK/SF2 ratings war in the early/mid 90's. Their are some fights I'd like to see though, if they ever crossed. Namely Guile vs. Jax, Fie Long vs. Kung Lao, M. Bison vs. Kano, Akuma vs. Shao Kahn, Dee Jay vs. Liu Kang, Chun Li vs. Sonya Blade, T. Hawk vs. Nightwolf, Sagat vs. Goro, Sub Zero vs. Ryu, and Ken vs. Scorpion. And Blanka vs. Sheeva.

If they did ever cross over, they could do an angle where Shang Tsung and Quan Chi extend their alliance to M. Bison, and Kano and Movado make an alliance between Red Dragons and Black Dragons and become their highest generals. And you'd have quite a line-up of mini bosses and bosses. You'd have Balrog, Vega Sagat, Kano, Movado, Goro, and then the three bosses, Shang Tsung, M. Bison, and Quan Chi. I'd have to say that in the beginning SF2 had much better game play and strategy, and a faster pace, but that's not the case anymore. Have you played MK 5, Deadly Alliance? Their moves are such much more detailed and well defined. Everyone gets 3 fighting styles, 1 with a weapon, 2 empty hand, and what's more is they'r completely accurate except for one or two people who don't have real fighting styles. Once you play Deadly Alliance, early MK games and SF2 will loose a lot of appeal, and will seem slower pace and pale in comparison, believe me.

MK,KOF and SF are great in their own realms; so no need to compare them

It would be nice to see a st vs. mk game, I know for a fact it wont happen but you gotta admit it would be kool. As far as comparing these game I think mk is better, the characters in mk have alot more backround and for another sf never evolved.
