I think that they just put in Ermac to make people happy about the little rumor of Ermac being in MK1... I remember as a kid trying to fight Ermac in MK1... People used to tell me, use Johnny Cage on that stage with all the statues... Keep Shadow Kicking people, and do that as your finishing move... And you would Shadow Kick off the stage and fight "The Red Dragon"... Wow I was dumb as a kid...

They both didn't really need an appearance at all... but if they didn't... Who would of have Kahn raise since a little tike... how would Kenshi learn Telekinesis?
