no.
I have the UMK3 Arcade machine Rom set version 1.1

When I do an arrow, its slow...then all arrows are faster after the first if they are touching the other side of the screen.

Regards,

Only when you do a move that connects or is blocked before the arrow, else a lone arrow done over and over, to a ducking oppenent will never go faster than normal, no matter the location of the other character. That's the only time and it doesn't have anything to do with them being on the other side of the screen.

Shock and I were just discussing the arrow. Its interesting indeed and it coming out has nothing to do with them being on the other side of the screen. If you do a move that puts your opponent into a state where they can't move (even if they can still block) then you can get the faster arrow out.

For instance, if you are a full screen distance away, you can do an arrow and, if you get the second arrow out while the opponent is flailing from the first, it will be a fast arrow. If you are right next to a standing opponent and you do an arrow, they will flail and recover to a moveable state before you get a chance to fire a second arrow.

Similarly, if your opponent is blocking and you do a HP they go into a state where they are stuck blocking (unable to move) and for those few frames you can cancel the HP to a fast arrow. Likewise, you can uppercut or roundhouse your opponent and immediately after get a fast arrow so long as they are still in the frames of getting up when you fire the arrow. Because as they get up, they can't move, even though they can block.

Another good non-full screen distance example is you can get an anti-air arrow at mid-screen distance, they will fall through air, hit the ground, and stand up, giving Nightwolf enough time to recover and fire a fast arrow as they are getting up. This works because they are still in an unmoveable state, however they are in a state where they can block.

That seems to be how the fast arrow works.

TMK is 100% correct. I was at his house playing against him and he showed me it. I didn't believe him at first either but the fact is he showed me. So what TMK says is true.

Yeah, I don't think you actually understood the description of the arrow.

Yes, if you fire repeated arrows from full screen distance And it hits your opponent the first will be slow and the following ones will be fast, so long as all the ones that follow the initial arrow are fired before the opponent regains control from the flail.

It really sounds like you are arguing that the only time you can get a fast arrow is if your opponent is full screen distance away. That is the reason why the description of the arrow was posted in the first place, just to let you know the real reason why that particular instance occurs. It occurs because the fast arrow comes out when your opponent is incapacitated by a previous hit. Its just that simple.

You have gotten fast arrows besides full screen distance away right? You do know it can happen easily right? Like just by doing an uppercut and then doing the arrow immediately afterwards?

Guys if you only post about Nightwolf's arrow you should know that when you do a combo and quickly do that arrow stuff, bow and arrow turns red.

That's in MKT, and it still happens in UMK3, my first explanation included every possible instance of the fast arrow, the mods on here seem to think it only happens on full screen arrows, but that's not true. There are a multitude of instances it can happen. There was no reason to even bring it up.

wtf, I said it goes fast when they are fullscreen lenth and you told me I WAS WRONG. I merly corrected you, and it doesnt seem to do it when they move off the edge of the screen, and in a combo it doesnt fire fast either. cause I always do hp,hp,lp,hp,d-f hp,d-f hp,arrow

Regards,

TMK, in Umk3 rev. 1.2 it DOES come out fast in that combo. I think the reason they implanted this, is that in MK3, it wasn't possible to follow up a single axe by the arrow, it just came out to slow.

I think DreamerNJ's explaination is closest to the truth, then again, maybe it was all changed in rev. 1.2, I'll DL 1.1 and see what happens.

I've tried the combo you use in Umk3 rev. 1.1, and the arrow DOES come out fast. I'm not calling you a liar, but maybe you are mistaking.

I don't understand what's so hard to get here. I never said it doesn't come out fast when they are across the screen, as long as it hits them first, BUT, that's not the REASON why it comes out fast, it's just one example of at least 20 different ways you can get a fast arrow, in all versions of UMK3 and MKT.

I found another tackle of Nightwolf ; B B F Hk,
which is red but I saw that less effective than FF Lk one, so I wonder why just make an useless copy of a move, or is there any secret behind it. I heard about a lot of Nightwolf's secret powers but found only few.
