Is it possible that theres a secret character in the portal like smoke was? When u unlock the portal story in the krypt, it says something about reaching inside when u defeat a resemblance of yourself or something like that.

the thing about fighting a version of yourself was their explanation for the tenth mission for each character in story mode.
