Post subject: Shang Tsung Growing Older! |

In what MK game do you think we will be able to play Shang Tsung at the age he was in MK1...Remember he went young and has been growing older in every game. Thoughts???

i thaught he was getting younger in every game, in mk1, he was old, in mk2 he looked about late 30s, mk3 and 5 he loke about 30. i think it is with taking souls, he restores his youth.

What do you mean you think, he clearly says it in a lot of place.
Shao also takes souls to grow stronger and stay young he is been there for at least more than 10 millenia.

I dont know maybe its just me but um....Shang Tsung in MK2 looks a lot more younger then he does in MKDA?????????????????????????

I think he stayes in his "prime" as long as he has souls hanging around...Liu Kang's soul probably was the reason his Fu'Man'Chu looked so healthy in MKDA

The consumation of souls that was taught to Shang Tsung by Shao Kahn in the time of his turning to the shadow (by force) I might add, did come at a price.
In his younger years Shang as a Mortal was praised as the best Mortal warrior and sorcerer on Earth. He contested in Mortal Kombat for the side of Earth. However, back then the use of magic in Mortal Kombat was forbidden. Shang Tsung fought in Mortal Kombat but seemed to lose on the last battle. His confidence grew thin and he used his magic to beat his opponent. He was expelled from the tournament and taken to kahn's quarters as Kahn won another tournament.
In his quarters kahn showed Tsung the power of taking a mans soul. He also made Shang become his loyal servant. Shang had no choice. It was either that or die at the hands of Kahn.
When and If Shang claimed his first soul then he would gain a lust for it. Which he did after claiming the first soul of a warrior. By using the soul steal he placed himself into eternal shadow and suffering. He would not age as long as he consumed a soul every certain period of time.
Here is my theory for the future.
Quan Chi having closed the portal to the souls in the heavens, Shang had no means to consume souls, altimately starting to become older. He cannot join the Dragon King as he tried to take over his army, altimately becoming an enemy of the DK and Reptile if they are seperate.
He can't go back to Kahn as Kahn would be thirsty for revenge. He is now enemies with Quan Chi, so his list of allies grows thin. I think he will make an alliance with Rayden and Kung Lao. They'll put their past aside and he will help the Earth realm once more. In return after his loyal service, he'd be free'd from the lust of consuming souls, altimately becoming a good guy.
