There is probably no real significance to it, it just seems like it's going back to what Boon said about every MK character appearing in the game at some point.

well it has been confirmed that every sinngle character in every single mk game will be in deception but most of them wont be playable u will just see them the only characters that r going to be playable r ..... well i am not going to list the whole thing go check out the news in the news banner in tmk it iy just ROCKS

Yeah Jarek was a total ripoff of my favourite MK kharacther Kano. But I really liked the stage in MK2. (Kahn´s Arena I believe it was called) where Sonya and Kano where chained up on each side of Kahn´s throne.
But it would be a good idea as zero wrote if they would grab you. Only time will tell...

By the way; Jade is selectable in Puzzle Kombat. Maybe she is only playable there. (Although you won´t be controlling her only the blocks that falls.)
