did anyone else find that two games realy similar, i found mk4 was like mk1, only with more characters, the stories were way different, but the tournament was similar, the only character who could be played as in mk1, who was not in 4 was kano, he is replaced by jerrak though who hadf very similar moves. goro was the sub boss, and shinnok, was similar to shang tsung, only when he morphed, his apearance did not change.

All the MK's ( MK1 - MK4 ) similar in this way :

1. They have a sub boss and a boss
2. The sub bosses are generally greater than bosses
3. There are some good Ninja characters to play with
4. But there are also very annoying characters to go with

The difference in MK4 they really made Scorpion the lead character.

MK1 and MK4 are totaly differant, for a start MK4 is 3d...that adds a new style to the game, MK1 was very tournament styles based with a sick twist. MK1 is my all time favorite, It just blew the world away.

Regards,

MK1 & MK4 - are these similar?
Rayden would say: hmm... hmm... I don't think so...
So, I think there are only two similarities-
1) both these games have Goro as character
2) MK1 was the first MK-game, and MK4 was the first 3D MK-game...
That's all...

I find more similarities in MK2 and MK4. Escpecially if you look on the Fatalities. Johnny Cages has his from MK2, Jax has his from MK2, Liu Kang has the Dragon Morph from MK2, Sub-Zero has his older brothers and his Deep-Freeze Fatality from MK2 (censored SNES MK1 Fatality)

And the Living Forest is in both MK2 and MK4.

MK1 is a little like MK4 just cause the sub boss is Goro and the main boss can change his moves, but thats about it. If you look at it though, there are more differences so you can't really say there that much the same.

They kind of seem similar to me too in that they are both the first attempts at something and so feel incomplete and unfinished. MK1 the first 2D MK gamea nd MK4 the first 3D MK game. Neither had particularly good gameplay.

For example, mk4 has a good graphic appareance, but for gameplay I think is better Mk1!
I hope soon I'll try Deception or Deadly Alliance to see and test how gameplay emproved.
