If you say so. But I did like that idea about a MK game just a RPG only, but I guess we could call Konquest a RPG npw.

As Ceaser once said in Gladiator. "Ah Maximus...There is always someone left to fight."
Same it shall be for MK. As long as there are fans and it makes money more games will be made. Just like Final Fantasy. Mortal Kombat is for Fighting games what Final Fantasy is for RPG. Unbeatable.
No matter what happens there will always be someone to fight. Either a reborn spectre or dark lord, or wholly new characters put together. Things will evolve as they do in real life and bring new surroundings to MK.

The difference with FF games is that each time, there's totally new characters, and they're not even related in story line. So it's pretty much just like a brand new, unrelated game.
I think something like:
MK7 - Vengence
MK8 - God Wars
MK9 - Fall of Earth Realm
MK10 - Revolutions
(BTW, I'm back to posting here)

How about MK7 : "The legendary Ninjas"
Story : The first master of Scorpion ( put a name ) is revived by the dreaded Quanchi ( yes he escaped from MK6, what a coward ) and made evil by a secret artifact ( like a zombie ). Now Scorpion must fight his own supreme master and other earth warriors to save the earth and outworld. The Elder God would send also other legendary Ninjas to help Scorpion defeat his own master.
