Taken from MKO post..
was just watching a special on G4TV, and they did an interview with Ed Boon and he revealed some new information. Boon said that sektor will make an appearance, and kabal will have a complete new look to him. He also confirmed that the living forest will be an arena. Boon was asked what cyborgs were to return and boon said that Smoke and Sektor will be playable characters. He said they will differ from what cyrax looked like in MKDA. If you have digital cable you have to check this episode out, the show is on G4TV and it is called "Electric Play".

Actually I hear Smoke won't be a cyborg OR a human. He should be a smoke elemental, like Blaze, but made of smoke instead of fire.

Smoke an elemental?? Wouldn΄t it be more logical if Sub-zero were the elemental in this game? Since he has the Dragon Medallion and all and is the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei.
