Yeah, the old characters that came back, MK2 Jax, MK2 Raiden, MK1 Kano, Baraka, MK1 Raiden, MK2 Kung Lao, were all played by actors that were still involved in MK when MKT came out.

Ohhh. i get it. But its a shame that a lot of sprites were left out. But it leaves me with a question still: Does the MK team still own the sprites used in MK1-MKT? I mean, they could re-make MKT with sprites and include ALL classic characters. I really want to use MK2 Jade and MK2 Mileena

Once the Mugen MKT game gets back up and running, you will be able to play as every character from every MK game when we're done. Don't hold your breath though, it will one day happen, just not any time soon.

Mugen is a program for the computer that lets you make your own fighting game.
You create a character, load him up in mugen and he is added to the fighting game.
Creating characters is a long annoying process.
Currently a group of folks is working on making MKT in mugen. The problem is Mugen is designed to mimic capcom style play more then anything else and MK style play takes a lot of tweaking to make happen.

Well as long as I can play as all character (cassics too) then i wouldn;t mind the wait.
