Slata keep on topic.
For myself, the ring was hilarious.
Saw was kinda predictable.
I guess the last thing that made me jump was the T-Rex in JP.  That's been so long ago now. 12 years old. That the best I can give you. If I watch a scary movie I'm either cheering for the bad guy. Enjoying the carnages. Making fun of it if it's just too damn cornball/predictable.
The Ring and Blair Witch to me are in the same category. Hilarious to watch No matter my mood.

When I was like 8...I saw Puppet Master, there's no child in existence who can watch that crazy flick with their feet on the ground at all times!
The scariest movie of all time is most definitely "The Shining". It's not the 'jump' scary movie, it's that 'deep deep gut feeling that this is the most horrifying thing in all of existence' kind of scary movie. *shudders*
My favorite scary movie is Maximum Overdrive...mainly for it's originality I guess...and it was funny as hell.

One of the scariest has to be Event Horizon. There are some images in that movie that make my stomach turn...  Still, an awesome movie and still scary watching it a 2nd or 3rd time.

That movie was purely messed up. The things that happened to the crew were awful. I haven't seen it in years though, so I may go out and get it.

I highly recommend renting it again if you haven't seen it in a while. It's still creepy and if it's been a long time, you'll forget a lot of the gruesome parts and when they happen. Like the computer log of the original crew and how they perish...
I liked the movie because not only was it science fiction, but horror too. It was done in a way that wasn't too cheesy and was still scary and cool. For those that haven't seen Event Horizon, rent it. However, I'd like to mention there's a lot of nasty shit in that movie.

Yes...I liked Event Horizon...especially the part with the mother and her child (can't remember if it was a boy or a girl)...sad and freaky, all at once...

I thought Dr. Weir's dead wife was one of the scariest things, especially when he's trying to fix that circuit board in the tight space. Also, when Evil Weir is saying "Do you see...Do you SEE?!" and it shows all those nasty images...just, sick...Plus the ships last computer log was nasty as well.
