Post subject: MK to be a Van Damme game? |

I heard that Mortal Kombat was originally supposed to be a game made with a Jean Claude Van Damme license. The license fell through and Van Damme was replaced by Johnny Cage. Does anyone know if this is true? And if it is, are there are pics on the net of the Van Damme unfinished version?

I doubt that this would be true, seeing as Jean-Claude Van Damme was connected with Street Fighter, but if people say it is (and they're telling the truth) then I would like to see the evidence!

The original Mortal Kombat WAS supposed to have Jean-Claude Van Damme playing Johnny Cage (who probably would have been the main character then) but they never could get past just the discussion phase.
They couldn't get Van Damme to play Cage and so they got Daniel Pesina instead. In my opinion, if Van Damme did play Cage, then Mortal Kombat probably wouldn't have any sequels because they probably wouldn't have been able to license him for future games and MK would have been just a one-hit wonder. Just my opinion, we'll never know.
