Post subject: Deifferences between XBox & PS2?

Hello everybody,

i don't find the search function in this forum, so i can't search for a similar thread. So if this thread already exists - sorry for that Wink.

Maybe i would buy me a XBox and there's my question, are there any differences in MK:D between XBox and PS2, except the premium versions or different covers. I mean from the gameplay (lesser Death Traps, different arenas)? Or are this 2 versions similar?

In the internet i've searched many sites, including IGN and the official "Deception" - site as well, but to my question i didn't find a clear answer. I've heard that the graphic on the XBox is much better then the graphic on the PS2! Can anyone confirm that? Or do you have comparsions in terms of screenshots for me?

And a little non-MK question, Cool what do you think is better? A XBox or PS2? Where can i find comparsions between this 2 systems (in case this discussion or question was posted several times)?

Best regards
zero-tx

The graphics for the system depends on the developer for the different games but the accessories for each system is the main difference between the two

The X-Box will contain better graphics then the PS2 version of MKD, but the difference will be minimal. All the content in the games for both X-Box and PS2 are the same. The Gamecube version is susposed to have extras in it what ever they are. But basicaly what it all comes down to is which system are you the most used to, or if you can afford to pay for your online play or not.

Hello again,

thanks for the many helpful answers.
In the moment i don't know what i should do... The PS2 i've in the moment, but i'm a little bit unhappy with it. I've heard in the near future the PS3 will come out. It would be like the upgrade from the PS1 to the PS2, you can play the old games on the new console but inversely it's impossible.

So i play with the thought to sell my PS2 with all games i have and buy me a new XBox. Everyone sais, that the graphics on the XBox is better then PS2 and she is faster.
I think, all videos i've seen from MK:D are from the XBox - and this graphic is fantastic.

Because the online play:
In germany you must pay for ALL, nothing here is for free. You must pay for everything, wait a long time until it came out (30th November the release) and then maybe it's censored - also, the online play is not the determining point in my buy decision.

I look for a stable console (lesser hardware problems and stable in gameplay) - my old PS1 keeped 6 years without any problem - how does it look by the XBox - are there such quality guarantees?

I don't know what i want... I would like to see MK:D in perfect graphics, fast and cool - but i know, that the PS2 is one of the stablest consoles i'v ever played with...

The content for MK:D is not different to the PS2 version? Great - so i mean, that in the PS2 version are 3 deathtraps in the lower mines, and in the XBox version likewise?
Hmmm... decisions are not easy Boring ...

I've posted australian release date thread... maybe someone can explain the question i have posted in this thread!

Thanks for your answers and help.

Best regards
zero-tx

Hi,

@rain_drop:
Thank's for welcome me in the forum, it's nice here Cool.
Now i've choosen the right decision - i keep my PS2 and don't buy me a new console - i think it's not needful.

The only thing i want to know now is - are the graphic differences between this two games truly so big - a handful people i was asking say that, that the graphic of the PS2 version are like DA ...

But rain_drop sais, that the differences are minimal... also i await better graphics %/ - i've question i know Very Happy...

Best regards
zero-tx

To me the graphical differences are minimal its not going to be a diff. such as SNES to N64 where there is a drastic difference. Both are the next gen systems as of right now, but the X-Box does support a feather better graphic engine over the PS2. The only difference that I have noticed by the naked eye is that the X-Box graphics look "smoother" take it for what its worth I dont think you will be dissapointed with the PS2 version.

Hi rain_drop,

i think likewise.
I've not noticed, that i've downloaded the videos from the PS2-section on IGN.com - and i find, the graphic looks great!
When the graphic should look like the graphic in DA, it's not bad - i will be satisfied. Many says, that the graphic is a little bit better.

That the X-Box is smoother, i'm thinking of that because she has more power in it. I think the designer and programmers have given her best - and on both systems it would be look great.

For me the most important thing is... to play the new arenas and discover all the death traps without a OSG or internet. Hope they look great - i'm still the perfectionist i was ever Rolling Eyes.

Regards
zero-tx

You're so damn right dude!!! That's the true Very Happy.

12 days if you can play it - 54 i am Crying or Very sad.

For several minutes i've received an e-mail from the midway customer service which i asked about the official UK-release. Maybe it's interesting for the webmaster (i gave him the german release date) that for the UK no official release date is given. The customer service said, that mid-november the PAL will come out, so an explicit date isn't given yet Boring.
Such a crap Puke.
