I'm pretty sure that scorpion will be in it like ed boon said there will always be scorpion!

other than that, i got no idea.. a prequel you say? awesome.. i seriously gotta get some more MK games. like MK4 (never played it) and MK3 or triology.. i'm gonan check out ebay now

I thought this was centered around MK2? So wouldn't it be safe to say that basically all MK2 characters would be present in some shape or form in this game? I wouldn't mind seeing new Shaolin Monks or White Lotus members to add to their ranks, giving us some insight into these orders and their function in MK.
As for Chars:
Kung Lao
Liu Kang
Kai (He is White Lotus)
Scorpion
Sub Zero
Reptile
Raiden
Fujin (He IS the protector of Earthrealm, although he seems to be MIA)
Rain
Other Elemental Guardians like Earth, Fire and Water (Thought they were VERY cool characters)

Scorpions in it becaue in my game informers magazine it talked about his boss fight.It said it begins at the end of Mortal Kombat 1 and ends at the end of Mortal Kombat 3.It said evryoune from those 2 games will be a boss fight.And you can go through all the fighting arenas.
