I found a way to play as Reptile in Mortal Kombat 1. Granted, this won't be especially easy, and some of you will probably bitch at me for it, but you'll need two things for this to work if you don't have an snes, the original game cartridge, and an action replay. First, go and download for yourself the zsnes emulator. Don't ask me where, just go and do it. Next, get yourself a Mortal Kombat 1 rom for it. I reccomend **censored** for this. After you download it, find the folder and extract the rom from it. Now for those of you who have no idea how to work an emulator, i'll give you a step-by-step of the process.
1. Double-click on the zsnes thingy to run the emulator. A new window should pop up. It will be totally blue. don't worry about this.
2. Click on "file", then "load". Find your Mortal Kombat rom in the directory tht pops up, and run it.
3. When the game begins to load, hit ESC. Just do it. It will bring up the menu. Find the menu for "cheats" in one of the drop down menus. (I forget which one it is. shut up) Now in the cheat bar, type in 7E02C101 (type the number 0, not the letter O) And cheat description play as Reptile.
Go back and type in another cheat, this time 7E197204. Cheat description play as Reptile. With both cheats entered (you'll know you did it right if they show up in the box above where you are typing) Go to "file" and then click "run" to continue the game.
When the character select screen loads (after you are done toying with the options), you will notice that instead of whoever the screen normally starts out on, your cursor will bet set on Scorpion, and when you try to move it takes you right back to him. Just pick him, and when you fight, you will be Reptile. There are some technicalities however. He has Scorpion's moves only (not sure about the fatality) and no matter how many times you win, you will never ascend higher than the first person on the ladder thingy. (Battle Plan, I think it is). However, when you win, it will acknowledge you by saying "REPTILE WINS". Also, sooner or later, the game crashes, but not until you've thrashed a sufficient amount of people in the process.

You could do that with a game genie on the normal SNES. Its not really new but it is sweet.
