Part I
"The Legend of the Thanatos"
Many thousands of years ago, there was a sorcerer named Nyx. He was the greatest sorcerer ever known. It was said his knowledge of sorcery and magic was unsurpassed and the power it gave him rivaled that of even gods. The only thing greater than his power was his evil. His terrible cruelty was just as legendary as his great power. It was said the atrocities Nyx committed put those of even Shao Kahn and Quan Chi to shame.
Nyx used his sorcery to create a living weapon of unmatched destructive power. A creature capable of destroying worlds. Into this creature, Nyx poured his cruelty, malice, evil, and need to inflict pain onto others. He named this creature Thanatos.
For centuries, Nyx traveled the realms with his creation, ending worlds, spreading pain and terror. To this day, no one knows why he did these things or what, if anything, was he looking for. Some believe he was searching for a means to conquer Reality. Others believe he was simply enacting a terrible revenge on the world for something that once happened to him. And some believe he did it just because he could. And because he enjoyed it.
Nyx's reign of terror did not end until he found himself on the realm called Lorenya. The Lorenyan people desperately fought a long and hard war against Nyx and the Thanatos. After nearly a decade of battle, Nyx mysteriously, almost miraculously, was defeated and killed. And without his influence, the Thanatos was overpowered and defeated.
Although defeated, the Thanatos would not die. With no choice, the Lorenyan people placed a powerful spell on the creature that put it in a deep sleep. They then hid it in a hidden location on the realm of Earth, and the people of Lorenya set about rebuilding their shattered civilization.
The Thanatos and the evil of Nyx passed into legend and they were all but forgotten.

A very interesting prologue/briefing. Is this going to be an on going story? Also, to be shameless and promote something...if you are interested, feel free to maybe join up the MK Tournament RPG...only if you wish...
and I hope to see where your FanFic goes
