Personally i would LOVE to see the orginal MK remade completely with 3D graphics. It would be cool. Maybe if they do that it can be called MK:Origin.
Who else agrees?

This game has it's own atmosphere in 2d, it could be worse in 3d I think. My vote is: no _________________ Think before you say something stupid

well, i do understand that it wouldn't be the same as the original, i mean "nothin beats the orginal", maybe the game would be great if it was remade. I honestly lose interest quickly in the old versions compared to deadly alliance and deception, and they are already remaking mk2 as a adventure game, so y cant they remake the first one? ....i dunno, i guess i think differently

No. MK1 Should stay as is.
Why? It took only 4 guys to make Mortal Kombat (initially, anyway. Then others helped), so it should be treated as a gem as it was. It was also the first of a story driven, fatality-strung formula, and a noticibly different type of gameplay, so remaking it would mean you would have to tweak SOMETHING of that to make it enjoyable for good sum of present-day gamers. And that kinda messes with the formula that started it all. So...I think no.
At least MK2 was a result of it (and became a classic hit), so that deserves such treatment. And that's going on already.
Think Final Fantasy series, Jay. FF1 wasn't redone, but just ported to Playstation (though since it was RPG, it touch-ups here and there had to be done). MK1 was also ported, but on PS2. However, FF7 was a classic hit to the FF franchise, and that is being expanded upon.

Well, would remaking the game make you less of a MK fan? I mean, would you trash Mk if they decided to remake it?

it would be cool but no one would buy it. you cannot really expect an allegedly better version of a game be better as the original deserves all of the credit. i would like it but only softcore mk fans would love. those who are hardcore realise that even though some will like it, it should not be made. This is the rule
The only exception to the rule was MGS twin snakes, which had better fight scenes than the glorious MGS
Im not insulting you by saying that you are not a hardcore fan of mk by wanting mk:origin but thats the way it is _________________ ...and i will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furios anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. Jim, Metal Gear Solid was not the first of the Metal Gear franchise (Metal Gear, for the NES, was the first). MGS was just a game that brought a relatively greater fanbase into the series. So I fail to see your reasoning.

No I wouldn't. But I'd be alittle disappointed to see MK1 overstay its welcome for what it brought to us.

Just becasue I like the idea of remaking an old game doesn't make me softcore fan. I have played MK since the first game came out. Also they are tehcnically remaking MK1-3 anyway becasue that is what is going to be covered on by MK:shaolin monks. by the way, you guys are acting like that remaking mk1 would be replacing the game.

MK 1 had 10 characters, and only 7 of those were playable I think. If any of the 2D MK games were to be remade it would have to MKT.

Jay, i know that mgs is actually the 3rd in the mg series but it then kinda started its own series. why else would the 5th in the series be called mgs3? i was just making a point about remakes.
and to those in europe, mgs was the 1st mg game released here. the ones for nes are not. _________________ ...and i will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furios anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
