i think if we took all scorpions non true fans out of the poles then rain would be the most popular
psych that wouldnt happen although rain is an awsome character and if he was fan favorite hed be in more games then just MKT, MKA and the intro for UMK3 even though u couldnt play as him
but seriously i think the most popular would be sub zero or liu kang
now, i said most popular not most liked, meaning ppl would resort to there names like they do scorpion now
in my opinion although liu kang is kinda the main character that doesnt make him better, i mean the guy got killed and turned into a zombie
but from wat i saw of him in MK vs DC that might change my opinoin on him

Even including all the non-true Scorpion fans both Scorpion and Sub-Zero are almost equal. So ya getting of the non-true fans would definitely put Sub-zero in the lead. Followed by Liu Kang as you said or Raiden.

I think Scorpion and Sub-Zero are so popular 'cause they're present in all MK games,from the first one...
So,some like Scorpion and some others Sub-Zero.
I prefer Sub-zero  .

Incorrect, Scorpion wasn't in MK3. The name "Sub-Zero" is the only character name to be in every MK game, excluding Special Forces, which is the only exception.

That's just a matter of who uses him, and in which MK title. MKT, Scorpion looks like a puppy to Stryker, Noob, Rain, and many others. But like I said, it's mostly dependent on who is behind the character.

same reason why ryu and ken are so popular him and subzero have appeared in nearly every game with the exception of the first mk and the third
why ed boon likes him im not sure but i do know he has been at least in the top 5 of every game he has been in (including mksm)

scorpion was in almost every game... he's ed boon's favorite character and his spear atack is one of the most iconic atacks from mk games

not only... it doesn't only depend on the player... i'm more likely to win a fight with a fighter that has a lot of cool moves than with one that sucks (like mokap  )
