I forgot to ask- is it possible for mugen to do 65,000 (16-bit) color backgrounds? I know the fighters need to stay 256 color for easier pallete swapping, but I didnt know for sure if 256 colors was just a preferred limit or if its a limitation of mugen itself. _________________ **Previously known as Peterbi**

Every part of background must be in 256 pcx format but you can have even 100 parts then it will be 256 X100 colors on the background

Ah-I see. So to maintain best color quality you would want to cut the stage graphics into parts that are similarly colored. Interesting. _________________ **Previously known as Peterbi**

I had an idea- you could cut out the boiler slits in the walls where the fire is and set it to transparent, then place a animated fire sprite behind them so the fire in the boilers will be animated and look cool.
More to come... _________________ **Previously known as Peterbi**

hehe- thats cool
Nice touch with the mk1 fire/flames on the pedestals
I notice the far background and the foreground may be a little dark on that Pit stage, maybe bringing those two areas back into graphic editor and brightening them up a little might help balance the brightness with the middle of the pit and the fighters, but if you think it looks fine then dont worry about it. Its not that much of an issue. _________________ **Previously known as Peterbi**

ok
Hey- I notice you used the mk3 moon on the pit stage- do you need a good quality mk1 moon graphic? because I have one. The mk3 moon looks fine though, so its up to you. _________________ **Previously known as Peterbi**

I was just looking closely at a few of the screenshots and I noticed the fan in the mk prison color reduction did not come out too well (or its the older one you had, not mine). You said each piece of the background could have its own 256 color pallete, and when I color reduced the fan myself just now in paint shop pro7 using "optimized octree" and "error diffusion" settings, then did pixel resize down to about the same size as the fan in the stage and mine looked better and closer to original colors. If you would like me to assist- send me your final fan graphic so I can make sure I have the right size for what you need. I can also make a new fan screenshot without post lighting effects on it if that would make it look better. _________________ **Previously known as Peterbi**
