I know how da other cyborgs (cyrax, sector) got around but smoke sort of has himsef a cloudy past, pardon the pun. in the second arcade version of mortal kombat there is a way to fight smoke at a certain time. Yet when you do find him hes just a pallet swap on sub-zero and scorpion so how does he make the jump from human if that is what he is to cyborg????

He was friends with Sub-Zero until MK3 when the Lin Kuei wanted to make all remaining ninjas cyborgs. Sub-Zero and Smoke refused, but Smoke was captured and forced into a cyborg. That's why he's a cyborg in MK3.

Since MK2, Smoke has been evil and now has sided with Noob Saibot.
However, i think that Smoke is very easy to manipulate becasue he is machine. Who else thinks this?

I dont think his judgement was impared i just hink smoke was in the wrong place at the wrong time. lol sucks for him. but anywho maybe smoke might just i dont know make a surge to fight for the side of good or some bull shit like that anywho smoke still haz da STREMF!

I think in MK2 he was rouge (basiclly a special fighter), MK3 he was captured and forced into being a cyborg and to kill Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero managed to fin the human part still in Smoke and they both fought Sektor afterwards he went to find purpose for himself. He returned in MK Deception programmed to serve Noob.

Smoke's good. His heart is in the right place but unfortunately because he is a machine, he can easily be programmed to do bad things. Thats why I personally think Noob-Smoke's ending was a lie because Smoke would never harm Sub-Zero, he even says in Konquest that he works for the Lin Kuei and thats a force of good now.

It depends on the orders the Lin Kuei left
Smoke is easy to manipulate and I think he would harm Sub-Zro as he doesn't have a will of his own

That´s little weird. Smoke helped (!!!) Noob to kill Sub-Zero (Noob ending only), because he was programmed to do this. But in MK3 Smoke was also programmed to kill Sub-Zero, but he didn´t (!!!) kill him.
Why has midway created the whole ´smoke´s soul´ story, when he can now be so easily reprogramed?

I guess we just have to face it. Smoke is now a puppet. I mean, Cyrax has now a soul and is a good guy. Smoke might have a soul but is still controlled by evil forces - so he is on the verge of both being good and evil. Sektor is the only soulless, evil cyborg left.

Smoke is just confused it would seem.
1st Smoke - MK2 this did tell you very much about smoke.
2nd Smoke - MK3/UMK Smoke was Sub Zero's friend but was captured and automated. His mission was to kill Sub-Zero. But when Sub Zero was getting beaten up Smoke has somewhat of an artifical soul that make him able to ally why Sub Zero to take out Sektor...I think it was Sektor. Human Smoke returned to the Living Forest and continued his training.
3rd Smoke - MKD Said to be found somewhere in Shao Khan's dungeon but was reprogrammed by Nob to help him. Noob was supposely killed by Ashrah and Smoke disappear because he had some good left in him.
Thus the history of Smoke confirmed....I think I missed something...

If Smoke didn´t become a machine he would never have sided with Noob Saibot. Then he would have fought alongside Sub-Zero.
